Only review this restaurant with praise but not criticism unless you wish to be threatened with legal action. Not that it is unreasonable to wait over forty minutes for a quality meal. I didn't eat because I wasn't prepared to wait but was offered a table by the blonde barman with a minimun forty minute wait time. I deleted my original review because of a threatening reply from the owner. As an Old Harrovian I am rarely called a liar. Please read the very next review from Agent Johnson.

Pleasant country pub. Food was ok to good. Starter was hearty but a bit taistless: Venison kofta. Main: venison pie was of good quality and tasty. Dessert: bread and butter pudding was okay. Service was good. Atmosphere was pleasant and relaxed. I'd go back for the relaxed atmosphere.

Food was delightful and service excellent, despite being busy on a Saturday lunchtime. Would definitely recommend and will be back again.

Loved this place. Amazing fish & super crispy chips! Two pints of Butty Bach were also spot on.We waited very little time for ours, but the people at the next table seemed to have a long wait for their sandwiches. Will definitely go again.Thank you Vine Inn.

I returned again last night 30/01/24. I had the best meal I think I have EVER eaten. The pear, stilton, caramalised onion and walnut soup was stunning. Then I had hake with green beans and potatoes. The hake had the minutes touch of chili, which was so good. It just complemented the fish and did not overwhelm it. The chefs were on fire. Just keep doing whatever you are doing. it was amazing. I returned to this local gem last night 18/04/23. The specials last night were Halibut, Loin of Hare and Duck breast. Any on them would have been great, but I went for the Halibut with dauphinoise potatoes and green beans. The halibut was a decent sized piece and was lovely. My wife had Much Wenlock pork, garlic and mushroom sausages on mash with red cabbage. I tasted the the sausages, and they were superb. Another hit from this gorgeous gastropub. This is a family run pub. Food is of a very high standard. Game is on most menus. For the quality and range of food the price is very reasonable, good value for money,, and less than many other local pubs.I returned 25/11/22, and again the food at this gastro pub was great. I like eating game. I had a pigeon breast starter which was lovely and a haunch of venison main in a cherry jus which was also divine. My dining companions had monk fish "scampi" in an amazing light tempura type batter. That was also good++. This place just keeps delivering and has a very talented chef in the kitchen.02/08/2021, I have returned again today and had wild boar fillet with grilled apple slices, mash with lovely pickled red cabbage and pureed peas and pea shoots. It was lovelyIt is family run. The other point is that it is cheaper than the M&B group type pubs who use ping and ding cooking (microwave). The Vine's food is way better and cheaper than high end M&B chain pubs food. Pls support this local gem.

Must have changed chef! Having eaten here lots of times this is the first time I was disappointed. It was a belated birthday lunch which made me not want to cause a fuss or complain on the day. I had the speciality pirk, mushroom and garlic sausages... 3 sausages no bigger than your little finger. All 3 were overcooked and tough, even burnt on 1 side. The mustard mash was hard and dry. The saving grace was the red cabbage and gravy, both delicious. My friends meals were ok, but the tandoori chicken was not tandoori. It was chicken tikka curry, with no rice even though it was very liquid with lots of sauce, served with a tiny naan bread. Her partner had ham and eggs his only complaint was the hard yolks. As ever the slow service was expected due to business being vey brisk but was very good. The drinks were top notch too.Its a shame this was such a disappointment as The vine is usually amazing. Lets hope it improves for my next visit.

Food wasn't bad, but I wouldn't be in a hurry to return given the competition locally. Service was prompt and friendly though.

Awesome food and a great selection of good wines. A tiny gem on the border of the Worcestershire countryside.
