The Waitrose in Solihull delivers the standard or customer service that we have come to expect from Waitrose over the years. I visited on a Sunday morning and even though it was bustling with people going about there shopping the staff were always visible and friendly. The security staff whilst walking around was chatty and engaging with the customers.All in all a jolly good Waitrose one might say

Super clean shop with a great selection, and friendly staff. Not as expensive as people make out, especially if you use buy fresh ingredients rather than ready made, or branded goods. The own brand foods tend to be better than the branded stuff in my experience.

Terrible, arrogant service from staff at the Waitrose Solihull branch. My partner withdrew some cash from the John Lewis branded cash machine inside the store. One of the £10 notes was badly torn.The customer service staff were extremely unhelpful and unsympathetic. They said the store would not take the £10 note and refused to exchange it as "it's not our machine" despite it being located inside the store with John Lewis Finance branding. What is most striking is the "could not care less attitude" from all of the staff we talked to including a store manager. They could have apologised or offered to call John Lewis Finance for us, as a minimum. We were going to do a big shop there but took our business to Aldi instead where prices are much lower of course. We spend quite a lot of time in Turkey and you would never encounter such a blase attitude to customers over there.

Friendly and helpful staff. Store is well maintained and clean. Good range of products available. Recently removed most of the tills and replaced with self-service tills. The issue that I find with these is that the shelf for the scanned items to be placed on is very small.

Update today in SolihullWell stocked store. Prices good, indeed some better than Sainsbury's.Partners on the floor seem to be an endangered species! However the lady at the checkout was excellent.Previously I wrote - Whatever happened to the 'Partners' that used to be seen around store that helped you find things? Also the queue control at checkouts is dire nowadays.Update: queue of folk with trollies. One till operating so a supervisor walks to the person with a single baskets and suggests they move to an empty till and she'll find someone. Ignores me with small but full trolley. Partner comes over already carrying his Till closing sign.Assumption is that they no longer care for the customer ?
