We took our car in for a second opinion as the manufacturer's health check had pulled up a list of items. John and the team quickly picked up that most were not required and were simply a money making exercise, so we only needed 3 things fixed as opposed to 8. Great honest service. Highly recommended.

I only had an MOT done, which it should've passed with flying colours anyway so perhaps not the most thorough test of this establishment, but I found them to be friendly and professional.I've had poor experiences with other Halfords Autocentres, coming away with the distinct impression they were adding Minors and Advisories just to fish for work, but I came away from here with a distinctly positive impression of the team here.

**SCAM WARNING-BEWARE** I booked online for a service and mot which cost £185 but when I called up to book in all of a sudden the price jumps up to £220 and the excuse was that "because were a bigger store we add on an extra £20 or so to the online services" ...except it was an extra £40 added but they failed to mention this online when I initially booked. I have a new car, haven't even had it a year yet, and hardly used it because we were in lockdown, and I've been in hospital. But yet it failed the mot.They said my brakes were worn right down to the metal, and my break pads were totally gone, although I've had no issues at all with my breaks. They said all the wheels were out of balance and I needed to pay £150 per wheel to realign, although I've not had any problems at all with my car veering off to one side due to being unbalanced. Long story short, they added on extra things I didn't ask for, want, or need that they said I would have to have done to the car before they can pass the mot.... and it ends up costing me over £800!!!! Bearing in mind, my car is still quite new and was hardly driven due to lockdownIts a scam they also used on my sister a few weeks ago where she came for service and mot and they replaced her handbrake without her say so saying her gearbox had gone and also charged her over £800 for it. I also found a review on trust pilot of at least 3 other woman they have pulled this £800 scam on where the wiman go in for minor jobs costing less than £100 but ended up getting scammed into paying £800. They have a scam going on where they rip off women going in for mots, and I will be taking it to the ombudsman.When I wrote in to complain to the head office they got their head mnager to look over what had happened and he agreed with me that one of the parts they claimed needed fixing otherwise they can't pass my mot, only usually needed replacing on an older car that was around 7 to 15 years old so they couldn't understand why the mechanics had claimed it needed fixing in my new car which he didnt think it did. But still he refused to refund my money. Ladies, this is the type of crooked, scamming garage we hear and are warned about all the time. Please stay away if you don't want to be scammed just because you're a woman!! who probably won't know whether what they are saying is a lie or not. They are dishonest and untrustworthy.
