Visited this week for a meal to celebrate my daughter?s birthday. Excellent carvery with lots of choice. A few guests had other meals from the menu and were very happy. They also do blood orange cider in bottles which made me happy. Only downside was that it appeared that you have to queue in a straight line for bar. I can?t stand this practice, god knows whoever thought it was a good idea. Overall though a fantastic night out and lovely atmosphere.Kid-friendliness: Very child friendly pub.

Popped in to collect selection of cakes for my mums birthday as I heard the cakes here are good ...Add your reg to the screen at the bar or else you may get a parking ticket in the post! Plenty of parking albeit a bit hap hazardly dotted about. Don't recall seeing disabled bays. Atmosphere is good and the place looks tidy. Definitely a family vibe for a Sunday roast and a beer.As for the cake Mars Attack is the killer chocolate one if chocolate is your thing. I found it very dry indeed. So dry none of us could manage more than a couple of mouthfuls. It needs baking less, cream in between the layers, or just add liquid to soak into it after baking it. Funfetti is delicious , strawberry with a plain vanilla sponge - nice subtle flavours. Lemon and Blueberries was delicious but again overcooked around the edges. Flavours work well and the blueberries keep the sponge moist at the centre. The giant éclair was poor - overcooked, choux pastry gone very dark and chewy, and totally flavourless ! The cream was unsweetened and so was the choux pastry. It was not pleasant and we gave up on that altogether. So overall nice vibe here but Cake menu could be a bit hit & miss.

My partner and I popped in for lunch on Saturday at noon. There was plenty of parking. (Enter car registration at the bar)There were lots of seating available and plenty of people serving behind the bar.We ordered drinks and sat at our table. You can order using a QR code, but I like ordering using humans, so I went to the bar. There weren't many vegetarian/vegan options. Slim pickings if I am being honest. Which was disappointing for such a fantastic pub. I had the mac and cheese. My partner had a carvery. My mac and cheese was OK. It's a bit bland, but it was OK. The carvery was superb. And the chef wasn't shy with the rations either. The best part of the whole dining experience is choosing which cake you are going to have from the mouth-watering cake display window at the centre and heart of the pub. The portions are huge and definitely worth every penny of the 5 pounds plus a slice. We will definitely be returning here again soon.Vegetarian options: Not many options. Fish and chips, mac and cheese or an ultra processed burger.

Fantastic food and lovely experience the staff set up tables near the kids area so we could still enjoy our meals while watching the little ones have fun.

Quite spacious so you are not sitting to close to other people and the food is really nice with a big range of vegetables on the carvey. Nice staff and one lovely lady ran out to find us when my mom had left her flowers, thank you ?

Dark & dreary, food needs improving unless you have the carvery(debatable on that being any better), menu listed options are overcooked or undercooked, overpriced, overrated, underwhelming and not the most appetising. My beef & ale pie was like a lump of concrete, 95% pastry, 6% gravy and 4% meat, total waste of money, cold mash and a dribble of gravy.... Absolutely appalling!! My partner's chicken was hard like plastic on the outside, dry as a bone on the inside and the chips were lukewarm as were the accompaniments!! Wine was fridge warm, no ice buckets and the glasses were filthy, serving staff said "oh it's just watermarks from the washer".... SINCE WHEN DID WATERMARKS COME IN THE SHAPE OF LIPS????? My personal recommendation would be 'go to Lakeside, about a mile up the road and miles ahead on quality, lighting, ambience and service'.

You get what you pay for food wise but service levels are a bit lacking, waited overly long at the bar, 2-3 members of staff wandering around, seemingly, aimlessly whilst one person manned the bar when she could have done with some help.Parking: Free for a couple of hours if you remember to register your vehicle details at the tablet inside, ££££££ if you forget!!!
