I went into the Oldbury store. I?d already got measurements by Carpetright and was given good assistance in choosing the colour and nice bars for the carpet. I saw Daniel. I?m looking forward to having my new carpet.

Carpetright did not measured the floor plan correctly. Missed out the bottom half of my kitchen because they assumed that I didn't want it done and it was a utility room (it's one room and there was a fridge and microwave there, I said to measure the whole kitchen and hallway). They do not care to ask clarifying questions when they're unsure and then feel like it's acceptable to lie about it when we're short of materials. They do not explain the floor plan clearly to you and then refuse to cover the costs of the materials for their mistake (I was happy to cover the fitting costs). When handling the problem I get told the top managers are assuming I'm trying to pull a fast one on them despite my initial budget being higher than the original quotes for it all. Appalling that I'm having to pay for their mistake and that they're unwilling to accept that a) I asked if he needed me in the room whilst he was measuring or anything else and was told no so went into the next room, which during the follow ups I was told I should have been in there with him b) if they thought it was a utility room (baring in mind the only thing separating it is a singular step) then why not ask, since I was in the next room with the door open picking out flooring c) if there were appliances that needed moving why not say so and let me rearrange for them to measure that part d) why not point out you've not measured that area when showing me the plan for one rectangular space since you're the experts and I don't spend my days reading floor plans e) why not ask if I wanted the area done anyway since it would be more money for you/commission too f) during follow up calls with them the questions I was asked suggested that I was to blame for the inaccuracy. They insisted that there was miscommunication despite the fact that there were no indications from the measurer that there were any issues with the space he was measuring. It looks like I'm going to forced to pay for it since we've ripped all the floors up a week ago when it was meant to be fitted and they've left us with a dirty subfloor we can't clean for over 2 weeks now with no resolution to their mistake. I've had to reach out to them on this multiple times (on the day it happened as they never contacted me, on the Friday I was told they would contact me back but they did not, I've had to call them today as it's been 2 weeks and they've not contacted me since) for anything to be done about it. I'm very disappointed with this service, I would not recommend it to anyone and will likely be putting in a formal complaint.I received a call on Saturday which did not provide me with a resolution. I have not heard anything for another week since. I have tried contacting the store but was told that no one was there that could handle the situation. We are now going on to week 3 of a dirty subfloor with no product ordered and no fitter booked in to put the flooring down once we have it. Carpetright are incredibly dismissive of their mistake, I have yet to see any actual effort putting to resolving this. If I could give it no stars I would.
