Had to pop in to see the new manager, this due to my connections with a local historical organisation and local school. There has been great upheaval at the Cottage recently. The manager stated that the last incumbent had left taking everything that wasn't nailed down. Although open, it is to be refurbished and new tenants move in. So my review is really a hope that the pub will carry on and have success in the long term. So many all over the country have closed.

Do not bother to get a carvery from here. This is my second absolutely terrible experience using this restaurant. Won?t be giving them the benefit of the doubt again. Truly a terrible business to deal with and even worse to eat their food!

Sorry for the 2* as the food & service was good but the reason will become apparent. My best friend & l went for a meal today as l used to work there 30yrs ago & was intrigued to see it again. The first thing we noticed was the radiators weren't on & it was cold so we left our coats on, perhaps a problem with the heating or trying to save on the bills. We chose our meals 2 for £18, & plenty to chose from on the menus. We ordered our food which arrived quickly & was well presented & looked delicious. The staff were really nice. What wasn't so nice was the flies!!!! They were crawling on the cutlery & on the table. After finishing our meals l visited the toilets. OMG. The flies were everywhere. There was a single flystrip by the sink which obviously wasn't enough. Why didn't someone spray the place??? The floors & toilets weren't clean either & the flies were crawling in the bowl & on the frame which was obviously there to help the more elderly & disabled patrons. I just hope the flies in the toilet weren't the ones crawling on the cutlery in the dining area. So sad to see an otherwise welcoming pub going down hill. Sorry, we won't be eating there again.

Your everyday local pub. Went to try the Sunday carvery as had seen good reviews. Choice of 4 meats, lots of vegetables and lovely gravy. Food was good but not sure if I would go back.

Ordered a carvery and a chicken balti for delivery through uber today. The portion sizes and food were fantastic. The hot made chips were beautiful & I must admit the packaging is fantastic. Would definitely recommend.

Wonderful country style pub in Kingswinford village. Food first class, beers definitely worth good beer guide. Outside plants look great too, now Manager changed pub is improving greatly

Im not one for leaving reviews but if I could give Zero stars I would!
Really dissapointed with food standards but most of all the way I was treated by staff.
I ordered for the first time from the cottage Kingswinford, I ordered a Carvey for 3 people and paid £36.. when it arrived as I took it out the bag the boxes it came in had gone all soggy so as I lifted box out of bag all the dinner fell through the bottom and onto the floor and the other boxes had gone the same.
I called the cottage straight away to explain and they said nothing they could do and to contact uber ( this was not a driver issue in my eyes and uber didn't reply)
They finally said the manager wasn't available and took my number to call me back...2 hrs later ( and no lunch! ) no call so I called again , explained again to another member of staff and was told someone would call me back when she had spoke to manager.Another 2 hrs later still no call so I called again and was spoke to really rudely by a different member of staff who again said basically not there problem and there was no supervisor or manager i could speak to after leaving me on hold then coming back and saying he was on his own and no one else there for me to talk to .By this time I was really upset and frustrated as £36 is a lot of money to end up on floor and know one wanted to help me.
Very dissapointed by the way I was treated by one of mine and my families local pubs.
