Why, oh why, do we they have two cashiers on the desk, but one, regardless of the length of the queue, is always 'unavailable' ? If that person is doing admin or similar, sit somewhere else, then they wouldn't wind the waiting customers up..

Totally wasting my time !! I had an appointment that I had to wait 2 weeks for to open a new account came at 10am and they informed me to wait another 30 minutes because they busy. What I waste of time. Zero organisation, zero respect to customers.. only one lady apparently can open an account for child. Highly not recommend.

Have always found staff helpful no problems i think another cash machine inside would help I prefer this type of bank that offers personal service if you have a problem or service required.

BEWARE! Never enough staff on, have got rid of three cashier spaces and now have two. You have to queue to query anything, usually to be told they can't help you in branch. Longest I've waited is 40 minutes to be told 'we can't help'. If you have a student account, you now can't cancel your overdraft over the phone. I spent hours on hold and they told me I have to go into branch to sort this. I go into branch, queue for 40 minutes to be told 'you need to ring' I tell them I have and it's a branch only product. They then say I need to book an appointment with an advisor which they offer me in three weeks time. I then had my hours reduced at work and went back into it. I was ill on the appointment day and had to cancel so couldn't make it. No follow up. I went into branch the other day to get a refund on three unauthorised direct debits and the lady tells me 'I just need to update your details' asks me 'are you still a student?' I say I've just had to leave my masters course due to ill health. I also told her that due to my overdraft being now almost 3x my monthly salary, fees on this would be unaffordable for me. She told me 'there's no banking advisor in today, come in tomorrow'. I told her I was at work tomorrow and couldn't. She didn't offer to book me an appointment just said pop in. Am I supposed to mind read staff rotas and spend up to 40 minutes queuing each time? I've just found out about the CRIMINAL changes to overdraft fees and thought 'thank god my account is a student account'- I've just checked and the lady changed my account back to a basic account without telling me!!! So now I'm going to be paying £44 per month on an overdraft which is 10% of my wages!!!! And, am I going to be charged this month as I've had no letters no nothing to say that I've changed my account as I had no knowledge. How IRRESPONSIBLE of Halifax after I told the lady fees would be unaffordable for me at the moment and she knew about this change and said nothing!!!! I am fuming. I even told her about my disability and the fact that I have to go to physio twice a month at a cost of £40 per session which leaves me with £20 a week for anything else which often goes on medication and things to ease my symptoms. Unbelievable! I feel like I've been stabbed in the back. How uncaring! Absolutely disgusting.
