We planned to come over to this area [from Telford] to collect some plants that my wife sourced online so decIded to find a place to eat. The SummerHouse was highly recommended, so in we went - no booking but that was no problem at all. We were advised that a table was booked by someone for 1.30 and it was about 12.30 - and was that OK? Absolutely, as we wanted a main couse only. Shown to a lovely table in a corner, plenty of room. We realised it was a very community-ased pub by the people we met - and got chatting to, like old friends, on the way in. At once, menus were brought and explained very quickly and expertly e.g. Sunday roast available as well as most of the main menu. We ordered drinks which arrived promptly, placed our orders and didn't have long to wait for my wife's roast and my steak pie. The roast had lovely gravy, turkey and plenty of veg. My pie was full of good quality steak pieces, beautiful pastry top and well cooked chips. We were asked if everything was OK and at no time hurried along. All the staff, all girls, are super at what they do and take a pride in their work. That is obvious. This is a wonderful pub, which we recommend wholeheartedly. It is also superb value for money - and the staff could show some other places how it should be done. Love it1

If you?re looking for a friendly, more family orientated pub then this is the place for you. We visited as a couple for the first time and felt so welcome by the staff. It?s clear that this place has a lot of regular returning customers and it?s easy to see why. A lot of the patrons are elderly and the music choices reflect this, but it just adds to the overall welcoming feeling. We both had starters, mains and desserts, all of the food was great, service was fast and friendly, prices are fair and we?ve left very happy with full bellies. Thank you for a lovely meal

Visited for food and drinks with family. Excellent service - table service for food and drinks. Very attentive staff. Food is lovely with generous portions. The pub is very clean. Would recommend for families.

I have travelled from Leeds with my son in terrible weather to stay overnight before Crufts tomorrow & had been met by our 2 friends who spoke very highly of this pub & its food. Unfortunately we were running late for our booking at 7.30 but had called ahead to explain. We then received a call a little while later to say they were closing the pub as they had no customers even though we were only 10 minutes away & had a reservation. After a slightly awkward conversation with the landlady they agreed to stay open for us. When we arrived we were met by her husband/partner who had a face like thunder & a very rude attitude. We were told we had cost them £70 in wages by being late! He hadn?t wanted to open this evening at all & was closing at 9pm! This meant we had 45 minutes to order & eat our meal?. Why had he not told us this when we called ahead to say we were running late?? When I asked ?do you not want us to eat here?? his wife said yes but we will need your order quickly but when we asked for 5 minutes to look at the menu her husband was down right rude & made us totally unwelcome. We decided to leave & sadly my friends who live locally were not only embarrassed for us but then had to drive around finding an alternative. Sadly they will never visit this pub again despite it being one of their favourites for food. I have never ever experienced such a rude & ignorant landlord! I hope you?re proud of yourself!!! My friends were too kind to post a review but not me. Disgusted with the whole situation.

Myself and 12 of my fellow ramblers visited today, first time, for a meal after our walk. We were not disappointed. The food was served quickly and was very tasty. We all agreed that it was good value for money. The place itself is clean and tidy and the staff very friendly. So thank you Karen, Phil and staff for looking after us.

We visited The Summerhouse on 18th February with our 3 children. The barmaid greater us with a smile and was so helpful when our little one was throwing a tantrum. We were shown to our seat and nothing was a problem. The food was amazing!! And even my awkward 7year old ate every mouth full. Fab atmosphere and the staff were all so friendly we will 100% be coming back again!

No idea what it's like at other times, but on a Thursday lunchtime, this is probably one of the most dismal pub/restaurants I've ever been in. No real ales...in an area that is awash with the stuff. Standard of food... poor Service not bad...except when you want the bill. Took me a couple of minutes looking around the deserted bars to actually find anyone... Passed by this pub many times in the past.... and will be passing by many times in the future..... Sorry, but there are far better places around...

4 of us came for a lunchtime meal today. Perfect size meals for less than hearty eaters. Good choice of meals of all sizes and the plates are not filled with excess of peas and salad. Table service was excellent and meals were piping hot. Will definitely be returning already booked for 2weeks time

We go to the Summerhouse pretty regularly as a family, usually 10-12 of us. We usually visit for Sunday lunch. I can never finish mine there is so much, luckily my son-in-law has a big appetite and he clears my plate as well as his own. Grand-daughter always has the double bacon cheeseburger, relishes every mouthful. At other times we have visited, every meal superbly cooked and presented so well. Obviously a great team in the kitchen. Karen and the front of house team always welcoming and friendly.

Staff were lovely - food was definitely comparable to frozen ping meals and sauce from jars. Sad as such good reviews.

Visited here on Tuesday evening as a group of four diners and we received a warm friendly welcome. First impressions were that the room looked very tired and dated, but were were there for the food not the decor. All the food came out relatively quickly and the large portions looked amazing. It was great to see some proper salad on two of the dishes and our server told us she loved the salads there herself. The mixed grills consisted of lovely tender steak, big piece of gammon, pork loin chop, 2 sausages, 2 eggs, peas, mushrooms, onion rings, 1/2 tomato, and chips. Everything was cooked to perfection apart from the over cooked pork. The hunters chicken and the gammon & pineapple meals were equally well receive. Overall - food and service were excellent, however no real ales available, but would definetely recommend this place if you're a big eater.

I can?t believe this pub is on our doorstep and it?s the first time we have been since moving to the area a few years ago!! Wonderful staff, absolutely brilliant meal, excellent value for money. Will definitely be back. Unbelievable

Visited this evening with my partner 7pm booking,lovely warm welcome from the staff,our waitress was very friendly and professional,my partner had the potatoe boat starter and chilli for Mains,I had the prawn cocktail and fresh cod and chips for main,both starters and mains were plentiful,fresh,delicious and great value for money. All the Staff we encountered were extremely friendly. Highly recommended,will be back again soon. Thank you for a very pleasant evening

We come here every Wednesday as a group of 11 friends and we absolutely love it. Great food, great service and great atmosphere. Nothing is ever too much and Karen and Laura are fabulous. Thanks for a great meal week in, week out.

One of the best places to eat inWolverhampton very attentive friendly staff food is always hot fresh and cooked beautiful , it?s a very clean pub to with very high hygiene standards , sometimes we can?t get a table as it?s full that definitely speaks volume great manager there and i highly recommend .
