Just walked into the Halfords (or hellfords) ... in the past I have had good helpful staff members.... bearing in mind I'm manager in retail myself ..... the service was atrocious .... like absolutely awful ..... I came in looking for ev charging cable as I saw one online on their website that was compatible with my vehicle ...... I wanted to come in person as I had some questions..... I walked upto a blonde lady in ponytail and asked could you please help me pick the right cable and abruptly said no sorry your car will tell u which one we can't too many types (i understood ofcourse poor execution but theres too many types and she wouldn't know fair enough) my partner was a taken a bit back by how blunt and short it was .... I explained to my partner that theres too many types and that it's early in the morning so they are probably tired plus they are probably use to dealing with rude customers let's just find the model type for the cable first.... once we identified which cable I said let's go take a look at the options... we went in and this time I asked can I please take a look at this cable and she said we don't keep them in the aisles and they are in the back! ..... at this point I was taken a back that the business couldn't show me what I was purchasing before I purchased it ???? .... ridiculous concept ..... i am not one to write reviews as such but this was one of the worst service I have recieveed from team member working in halfords ..... overall the way she spoke and couldn't care less regarding our query 4 words to reply to my questions I was in shock ..... we shop alot and u do get colleagues that can't be bothered to serve customers but at the very least they hide it better ..... this lady could not careless about the question so she followed up by saying ur better off going to the main dealership and buying ur cable from their...... I had two interaction with her and they lasted a grand total of 30 seconds both put together ........ from now on I would heavily recommend not to shop at halfords to anyone reading this review .... they are much better alternatives online and at various garages ..... if any one would like to check whether my statement is true we entered the store around 10.55 am - 11.00 am on 02/09/2025
Ps. Believe it or not but I would like to believe that I am a very understanding person and empathise with retail workers alot as we do get treated poorly by customers ..... but no matter how much we don't want to be there I believe we shouldt treat our customers in the same fashion. If I was asked to testify to this in court with risk of perjury I would because I am speaking the truth with no personal emotions involved other than slight bit of annoyce.
Please do better ?

Very rude and bad customer service. They don't want to help the customer to get the item. They said we can't help you. Very disappointed.

Ordered several items and a bike. Only a few of my items were available when I went to collect my bike. The rest of my order has not been collected as I was told they werent in stock yet. When calling the store Matt and Aziz have been very rude. Lied and said I have collected the items. Matt put the phone down & told me to do one when i demanded a refund after all the back & forth. Call advisor at the call centre said I had a refund which I have definitely have not, then agreed I have not when she checked the system correctly. Fraudsters. My complaint has now been put it & I am contacting trading standards in the morning

Had roof bars fitted that they supplied but the technician damaged the paint and used t cut to attemp a repair but only achieved removing the ceramic coating and did not reapply

Absolutely fantastic service at Halfords Coventry! I recently visited to get some advice on car maintenance, and I was blown away by the helpfulness of Jamal and Harun. They both went above and beyond to explain everything clearly and ensure I had exactly what I needed. Their expertise and friendly approach made the whole experience a pleasure. I highly recommend this branch, especially if you can get assistance from Jamal and Harun ? they are a credit to Halfords!

No issues. Click and collect system worked fine. Lack of staff at checkouts caused slight queue but nothing horrendous.

I've always found the staff in Halfords very friendly and helpful. The new layout is a lot better and easier to get around and find what you need, as the signage is very clear.

I visted the store 09/05/25 at around 18:30, in the past I have avoided using the store due to poor service in the past. Today's visit has turned that around, I was helped by Matt who was extremely helpful and provided excellent customer service and was very professional. The store has recently been re-designed and was looking alot better than it did in the past. Thank you Matt for your help with the door reflector bulb!
