Rubbish shop. Way overpriced. No wonder it?s always empty. I signed up to the members club only to be told I can?t use it in my local store! So what?s the point? I had some in store vouchers to use and they refused them!

Pretty standard Co-op. Sometimes seem to have issues with their fridges, apart from that exactly as you'd expect.

Dear Co-op Customer Support Team,
I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding an incident that occurred at your Heart Of England Earlsdon store, located at 8 Earlsdon Street, CV5 6EG, on 11/01/2025 between 17:40 and 18:00.
On 10/01/2025, I purchased a 4-pack of Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey mixed with Coca-Cola from the aforementioned store. Upon consuming two cans, I realized that the product had expired on 31/12/2024. Concerned about the potential health and safety implications, I returned to the store to discuss the issue with the store manager, Johnathan.
To my dismay, Johnathan informed me that it is not illegal to sell out-of-date products and attempted to justify this by stating that the store has sold expired products before. When I expressed my concerns about the legality and safety of this practice, he offered me a refund, which I declined, emphasizing that my primary concern was the health and safety risk posed by the expired product.
During our conversation, Johnathan accused me of cornering him and exhibiting anti-social behavior, subsequently banning me from entering the store. This accusation is unfounded and deeply troubling, as I was merely trying to address a legitimate health and safety concern. Johnathan also claimed that the expiration date on the product does not pose a health and safety risk, despite my having already consumed two cans.
I request that you review the CCTV footage from the store during the time of the incident to verify my account of the events. As a loyal Co-op member, I am extremely disappointed with the way this situation was handled and the unjust treatment I received.
If no action is taken to address this issue, I will have no choice but to escalate the matter to the Consumer Protection Act for further support.
I look forward to your prompt response and resolution of this matter.

This is a very specific review based on my mother's experiences recently, so this is really from her. She is 88 years old and scuttles down to the Co-Op to get necessities. She finds the staff there are now excellent and genuinely caring. At her age she sometimes wobbles a bit and a member of staff has been on hand to not just help her but even physically keep her steady. She says that they are young, kind and extremely helpful.
Thank you from my Mum and thank you from me for looking after her.

Self service is very poor, constantly needs a member of staff and then not one available. Staff training needs work, often use the pay point and every single time the member of staff has no idea how to use, often fobbing off saying "it is not working" or "we don't do it here" even though I used the day before.

Manager has a face like a bulldog chewing a wasp and is rude and arrogant. Clearly suffering from small man syndrome.

Be careful of the price on the checkout. On the shelves display they put offer price but on checkout it will be higher price. So always make sure you are charged correctly.

I wrote to Ali Kurji, the Chief Exec of The Heart of England Coop Group 3 weeks ago. In the detailed letter I outlined that I was being harassed by one of his employees from this branch....
The individual was working in collaboration with others to place & post rubbish at and through my door, squirting white corrosive liquid on my car - causing damage of £1,600 to the body work of my car. All of these attacks have been going on regularly for over 18months after I complained to the council over their fly-tipping for which they received a caution for. The police were unable to take action as I lacked video evidence, but I have witnessed the individuals carrying out these attacks.
I provided emails from the council, background, photographs of the individual and asked for a respose within 14 days. To date i have had no reply.
I will not be shopping at the coop again.
As a good citizen, I feel other customers should be aware of this.

BEWARE - Never has the correct prices on the products. If you use the self-service tills then this is always an issue as there doesn?t seem to be enough staff to help so you have to queue for the main tills. I use this coop regularly but only as it?s local. Prices have been incorrect about 80% of the times I have been, in particular with deals such as the meal deal or 2 for a certain price.

Always tidy and clean. Very local and engaged with shelves for local and zero waste produce. Staff are helpful, too. Quite a pleasant experience to shop there!

It's a nice tidy store with very convenient access for locals. There can sometimes be a bit of a queue but other than that it's a good store.
