Amie has been doing my hair for a long time now. I?ll be honest I do think she charges me too much as she charges me and my daughter the same even though I don?t have as much work done.Amie is lovely though and once I get to know someone I tend to stick with them. I was in a rta a few years ago and this has left me disabled and suffering with fibromyalgia plus many other things.I live day to day as I never know what the next day involves with me and Amie knows this. Now for the review: when Amie does my hair she never does it start from finish as I?m passed around the trainees from washing my hair to blow drying it, which is Not what I pay for. But I?ve never said anything as I like Amie and is used to her.But last week I called her to tell her I had been with my daughter for 2 days and unfortunately she had Covid and asked her should I still come the next day. She said ? yes?.The following day I felt really bad and it turned out I had covid too. I called Amie to tell her and she still wanted to charge me £40 half of what she charges me for my hair.I told her I couldn?t afford it and I did warn her the day before telling her that I wasn?t feeling too good. Now unfortunately she won?t see me unless I pay the £40 first and then another £80 for my hair. One could argue all the times I have paid her to do my hair she has had another client in and is doing us both at the same time and leaving the students to do some of her work but I?ve never said anything cuz I?m not like that.I feel poorly treated as she knows my circumstances very well. I didn?t ask to be disabled and have many health issues. I do try and lead a normal life as much as I can but this whole situation has left me saddened and down.Service: Hairstyling

Hi Cheryl (response to review below)I felt like your review needed a reply as having read it as have all the staff one thing we are all surprised at is you refer to Aimee has a friend and how much you like her! but then felt the need to leave a unfair and unnecessary review that tries to Damage not only ?a friend? but a business that?s been successful for 17 years..that?s aside in am sorry you were unhappy with how you were treated on the late cancellation of your appointment but I must also point out that this is actually the 3rd time in short succession that you have given less than 24 hours one time I believe was 20 minutes prior to your appointment as you can appreciate we were unable to fill your 3 hour time slot. Aimee did make you aware On the first occasion about the cancellation policy but waivered it as she understood your circumstances and again the 2nd time but the 3rd having spoken to you the day before and saying she was happy for you to come to the salon she also gave you the choice then to cancel if you felt you needed too given this was in relation to your daughter having covid not your health problems, but you declined so the £40 she was asking for was the cancellation policy for that day half of your £80 treatment which again is a reasonable price for the Length of time and amount of product that is used on your hair and I would be surprised if you managed to get it any cheaper in a city centre salon as we keep out prices very competitive especially for long term clients. The way I see it is nobody would want to go to their place or work and not get paid for 3 hours however as a self employed mum of 3 your late cancellation meant that?s exactly what happened to Aimee and all other salons ,dentists small business have this procedure in place especially at such a difficult financial time for everyone. As for being passed around to students and other staff members this is a very common process in all salons however Aimee very rarely adopts this approach with her clients and the 2/3 times this has happened is again due to your late cancellation and then trying to get squeezed into a already full day of appointments the next week to which Aimee made you aware she was squeezing you in along with her pre made appointments but you understood and wanted to get your hair done and with your ongoing health issues and anxiety that you have mentioned in your review above sometimes you want to be away from others so we always accommodate this by taken you upstairs or in a quieter room and this involves the help of another staff member..I do want to just finish on the fact that at Cabello we are a team and all our customers are treated fairly and are welcomed as friends but unfortunately not everyone is always 100% happy although this is a rare occurrence we always say any issue please contact us.I feel that having been with us for a number of years it?s a shame you felt the need to rant on our Google page and not speak to one of us directly and your time as a Cabello customer as ended this way. But we thank you for your years of custom and loyalty and wish you all the best in the futureBecky and Tracey

The lady was nice, having nice and casual conversation. Very comfy space! :)On the waxing list, if they don't do it they should take it out and actualise prices, I ask for full legs and bikini and was like a promo £25.. when paying was £5 extra.Overall, apart from that it was good. I came out from there satisfied.

Cabello was recommended to me by a friend, and I've since discovered that at least three other people I know also go there. All the staff are lovely, and I've never left there feeling anything less than happy about my hair - and that's quite a rare thing!Highly recommended!

Typical hair mistakes allow salons to potentially resolve common issues however, mine was far from this.I had shoulder length hair with a side shaved piece and layering in the top, blonde and black in colour which had been cut like this at Cabellos. I was more than happy to have another appointment. On my next appointment I took a picture for inspiration as I wanted a feminine mowhawk style. It was not far from what I already had but I understand about being realistic with what can be achieved. The same stylist as before advised me to have both of the sides shaved off as it would look better. I was hesitant but trusted her professional advice given. When this was done she turned me to the right and started cutting into the top with it getting shorter and shorter. To make matters worse other stylists made comments such as "We've just been discussing your hair in the staff room and if I had hair like that my boyfriend would leave me"That got me feeling seriously nervous as she wasn't the one doing my hair or in on my appointment. Where was the professionalism or their customer service pride. Why would you say that?I overheared the stylist next to us say "that's the type of women who get their hair cut like that thinking all men are c**ts" while swearing at times in her conversation with their client. There own client even decided to sarcastically say to me on the way back to reception "good luck with that hair"My hair left was cut so short it was around 1cm in length and then a strip of hair resembling an 80s mullet. My inspiration had hair where exactly was mine. My trust had been betrayed and I felt like I was part of some sick joke. The whole experience was wrong from the moment she started work on it.I was utterly shocked and thought that it must be me at first. When I went to pay at the reception the trainee said "oh it's not that bad"The foul mouthed hairdresser said"I will get your coat,is it white"Its unfair that I was treated this way after putting my trust into the stylist and salon yet, the majority of clients receive 5* treatment. I don't know how a qualified professional could get this so wrong and the lack of professionalism from the comments passed.I was shocked and I felt humiliated, I felt like my appointment was part of some sick and bitchy joke. Why would you do that? did they think it wouldn't come out eventually and did they not think about the company or the people whom it belongs to. Obviously, my experience will cause negativity but they didn't think about the impact it would cause me.I was left feeling so low that I could not bring myself to complain at the time, this was not a normal situation from a salon that could be resolved. I would not be trusting anyone from Cabellos to touch my hair again or the little I had left of it, I couldn't care less about getting my money back and how could I face a company that treated my hair appointment like a joke. I was humiliated! What could be done? Barely any hair left and certainly not what I asked for.The experience left me in tears, caused emotional stress which, affected my overall well being. My confidence went and I felt so low because of this.Furthermore, I quit my hairdressing qualification that I was doing part time, that's the impact this experience had on me.I had to wear nasty glue in and Wear wigs, that's how bad it was while,I wore wigs and glue in hair extensions it was that bad.Having to face people with a brave face and so far from what I asked for, I was the one left suffering. My hair was restyle elsewhere but I still had unfeminine extremely short hair, not a reflection of me at all. This is my experience and my review and whilst everyone is entitled to give an opinion it is irrelevant in reviewing my review, perfection does not exist.Further information and details have now been sent to manager Rebecca as requested.I suggest that any further client opinions or reviews of my experience are also passed on to the salon as it is irrelevant to be reviewi
