Purchased a tub of paint from this store today, the paint lid wasn't sealed and due to this the paint has gone all over my brand new car, the manager told me it was my job to check the paint lid, (in my options its the staffs job to check the paint before going on the shelfs) phoned the warehouse explained the situation got told to come down, when I got to the store the staff refused to do anything about my car, was rude and the customer service was shocking, dont buy paint from this store unless you want your cars to look like mine.

I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration regarding a recent experience I had at your Binley Coventry branch on 30th of June 2025 which has left a very poor impression of your customer service standards.
I purchased an air cooler from your store in the afternoon of the day before date, but upon use, I discovered that the internal fan was not functioning properly. I returned to the store the next day to request a return or exchange, in line with the return policy clearly stated on your receipt.
Unfortunately, my concerns were not handled professionally. Both the store manager Jason and a female supervisor engaged in an argumentative and dismissive manner. Rather than helping to resolve the issue, it appeared they were more concerned about meeting end-of-month sales targets than honoring your return policy and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Another customer, who witnessed the exchange, was compelled to get involved due to how poorly the situation was being handled.
Eventually, Jason agreed to issue me a credit note for £180, but the entire interaction was unnecessarily stressful, unprofessional, and damaging to your brand?s reputation.
I urge B&Q to look into this matter seriously. Staff should be better trained to handle valid customer concerns respectfully and in accordance with the store?s own policies. A gesture of goodwill or further clarification on how such matters will be improved in the future would be appreciated.
I hope this feedback is taken constructively, and I look forward to your response.

B&Q staff have always been really helpful and can't do enough. However on this occasion today 28th June 25, I went to the paint mixing desk to buy some paint. There was a man there by the name of Paul who was very rude, didn't want to help and didn't want to be there! I asked him to mix a farrow and ball colour and he was adamant b&q do not mix colours until a staff member had to say we do. So unhelpful and no manners at all. There were customers that had been waiting a long time and when I had finished he walked off and said someone will be with them and walked off. Really shouldn't be working in retail!!!

Very poor customer service. My Calor gas bottle had run out, so I took it back with my cylinder refill agreement that B and Q signed and I also took my receipt with the refill purchase and agreement purchase that I paid for when I purchased my first bottle. However they told me that they no longer sell Calor and it is Flogas now. So my agreement with them is now void. So my £40 that I paid initially was now useless. So I asked if I could swap the agreement over to their new Flogas instead - the girl serving me didn?t really understand so I asked to speak to a manager. She said I would have to purchase a new agreement as my old agreement was with Calor not B and Q. So I said what do I do with my Calor Gas Bottle. She said I would have to take it to a Calor Gas centre and the closest one is on London Road ( this was a lie as it is also Flogas not Calor) I said if I pay for a new agreement then what?s to say in a few years B&Q change again. I asked if I could just by the Flogas bottle on its own and no agreement they said I would have to purchase a new agreement. They also told me that there was a year when I could have changed it over to Flogas but I said were customers notified as the user agreements have addresses and emails. She said no they weren?t. So I said how was I supposed to know about the change? My husband was getting irrate with both the B and Q staff. I asked them to put themselves in our position and they both said yes it isn?t fair but B and Q head office make the rules and there was nothing they could do. I said I understood it?s not their fault and they said they?ve had lots of customers in the same position but they weren?t allowed to do refunds or changeovers of user agreements. Poor people I said?£40 might not be a lot to B and Q but it?s a lot to lose to many. We proceeded to the Calor gas centre which was a wasted journey as it wasn?t. In the end we managed to swap it at a petrol station we happened to be passing and spotted, no user agreement needed. So the lesson is don?t by through a retailer as the extra you pay for the user agreement is a scam. They have no interest in their customers. Just buy it direct from an actual centre or petrol station?no user agreement fees.
