I went in to the Merry hill branch with my husband and our Children on the 9th and bought a pair of shoes for my youngest child, my husband and I asked for a bigger size of the particular shoe intilally and the shop assistant assured us that we could return it for a bigger size as they did not have it in shop at the time. so pre ordered the bigger one and bought the smaller for my daughter to try which was so tight on her. The bigger size came in to the shop as we requested and tried it on and it was a perfect fit and as my little one 3 years old had worn the shoe just once, the management turned round to say we could not return anylonger and insisted on refunding us on the new one. The manager also refused to give their name as a reference in case we needed to contact sustomer services. Very poor service. We shop for the children as needed and we have received good customer services, like from Next, Clarks, etc and we even mentioned these cases to them and they said, well this is River IslandThey provided wrong info to us on Saturday and we are being pennalised for it too.

I went in to buy a pair of earings and identified and loved a pair. I was confident in purchasing the earings and tried them on. When astore assistant saw me, sheasked me not to try them on but I had already done so. I assured her that I lovedthe earings and was going to buy a pair.Whist in the queue to pay, I noticed that the thin metal pole that goes into the ear and is fixed with the backs was faulty so that the backs fell straight off which would mean that they would easily get lost, and I showed this to the assistant. She asked me to look to see if there were anymore on the shelf and after finding a perfect pair of the same earings, I offered to pay. I was told by the supervisor that I had to buy the pair which I had tried on. I told her that they were not fit for the purpose as they would fall off immediately and once again demonstrated the fact that they were faulty. I told her that I wanted to pay for the working pair as the others were not of merchantable quality but she said she was not prepared to sell me anything and that I should leave the shop. I think that this is very poor customer service, trying to force me to pay for an item which is faulty, even though still inthe shop.If i was thirsty and went into a shop and whilst standing in line i opened a can of coke, then as i gave the casher my money noticed a worm in the can, do you think she should force me to pay for it because I already drank some of it?1

Came looking for a wedding suit and was immediately taken with one of their 2-piece suits. Excellent customer service from the lady called D helping me! Will definitely shop again.
