I went shopping in Matalan during half term. I bought a pair of jeans and a pair of slip on sandals. When l went to pay, a sales assistant at the checkout asked if l was paying by card. I said yes, so she took me to a self scan till where she proceeded to scan my items. She told me l just needed to pay with my card. During the whole process, l felt pressured and rushed. I'm more than capable of using a self-serve checkout. When l got home, the shoes were the wrong size because they were on a size 3 hanger but were, in fact, a size 5. If l'd scanned them myself, l would have spotted this. I now need to go back for an exchange. Very annoying, particularly as there was no queue at the tills.
Other than this, there is plenty of choice at fair prices.
