Exceptional in-store service and premium shopping experience
I recently visited The North Face Birmingham store (located in the Bullring) and was genuinely impressed with both the layout and the level of customer service. Whether you're browsing, upgrading your outdoor gear, or making a first-time purchase, this store sets a high standard.
Store Presentation:
The store is extremely well-organised. Products are clearly arranged by category ? men?s, women?s, outerwear, footwear, and accessories ? making it easy to navigate. Sizing options were clearly labelled, and despite the store being busy, it never felt cluttered or overwhelming. Lighting and spacing made it easy to properly view and feel materials before purchasing.
Product Range:
There was an excellent variety of jackets, fleeces, backpacks, and footwear in stock. The seasonal selection was up to date and included all the latest lines, from lightweight hiking gear to high-performance GORE-TEX shells. They also had a solid inventory of staple items like Nuptse and Denali ranges, as well as city-ready pieces and technical outerwear for harsher conditions.
Customer Service:
Staff were attentive from the moment I entered the store. I was approached by a team member who offered help without being intrusive. They clearly knew the brand inside out ? answered detailed questions about insulation levels, waterproofing ratings, layering options, and how certain fits perform in different weather. I never felt rushed, and their advice felt honest rather than sales-driven.
I was also helped at the fitting room by another team member who gave practical tips on jacket sizing based on layering and movement, which helped me choose the perfect fit for my needs. Checkout was fast and friendly, and I appreciated the brief rundown on care instructions for my new jacket.
Location and Convenience:
The store is centrally located within the Bullring shopping centre, easy to access from both New Street Station and the main entrances. It's convenient for picking up quality outdoor gear, whether you're preparing for travel, a hike, or just want something weatherproof for everyday city use.
Overall:
This is one of the better branded retail experiences I?ve had ? not just in Birmingham, but in general. Excellent product selection, knowledgeable staff, and a clean, professional environment that lives up to the reputation of The North Face brand.
Highly recommended for anyone serious about investing in outdoor gear ? or just looking for functional, stylish pieces for the colder months.

It?s a small store with limited stock but have to say the three guys on shift were so helpful, friendly and welcoming, they looked up the sizes in stock and nearest store that stocked what I wanted

I wish I had read the reviews of this company first! I had an order come, DPD left it outside which was not a designated 'safe space' I have had lots of contact with North Face for a replacement or refund in line with section 29 of the consumer rights act and the following was their reply. I cannot stress this enough. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

SO FUNNY, you buy online from North face themselves and they act like an alien sent it. Saying oh contact customer care, the same people who don?t reply . If you?re buying from north face online or JD or footassylum, they will all send you around like a headless chicken. But easily take your money. To return is a headache , don?t bother going in!!! Every other store helps , it?s the first one I see is pathetic in sense, never ever again ordering or wearing your brand. £200 for cheap China material jackets. ?? not worth it, I went east face north left and right with my face.

The staff made me feel unwelcome, following me around the store and checking on me in the changing rooms as if I?m a thief. I have no interest in stealing your overpriced, low-quality clothing. The shop is tiny and offers a very limited selection.

Partner had a north face jacket for 11 months. Unfortunately the zips jammed. Took the jacket back to North Face Birmingham, where it was bought from. Unfortunately they didn?t have his size in stock , but gave us a signed receipt to return after Christmas, which we did. No problems in exchanging jacket. They even gave as a £5 gift voucher as the jacket had being reduced . Excellent first class service Thank you North Face
