Wouldn't stay again. It's well located but it just felt really impersonal, not overly clean and the lifts and corridors smelt.Staff interaction is limited to the odd word, security are often sitting on reception smoking vapes. The windows are filthy, the blanket on the bed looked like it hadn't been washed in a while, there was unclean crockery in the cupboards, there's a washing machine but no dishwasher, which I feel would be more useful. My room had a massive wall in the middle of it, so the room felt very odd, the sofa is cheap, you can't see the tv from the bed and there were lots of small black insects in the bathroom.Absolutely not worth the £140 per night, particularly when I could have paid £84 on the day. Many more nicer places to stay in birmingham.

I stayed in room 1606 of the 16th floorI have such mixed feelings about this placeGood parts:1) easy to find and get the key for it2) great location3) seeying the sunrise from here and the look over the city at night are just amazing4) bed is really comfortable5) there is a hair dryer and an iron6) it's well soundproofed from neighbours7) The heating system works and it doesn't take that long to heat the roomBad parts:1) It's quite dirty - the room, the windows ..the shower is worn out2) there could be more pans and things in the kitchen for longer stays3) it's not soundproof from corridor side4) the room was quite smelly when I got there and the bathroom has no ventilation and it smells when it gets wet5) they store under the bed some used(?) towels and bedsheetsOverall I am not sorry I stayed here - it's ok for 1 or 2 nights.

Went for Creative Heights II Shoot the Sunset. Amazing views as it got dark from the level 20 balcony. They have other events you can book up here. First time up there. But have seen the Rotunda alot.

had a totally horrific experience last weekend, which was completely ruined by the member of staff, who refused to provide her name, at the hotel reception. last weekend was an unusually hot weekend for September and we realised the hotel has no air conditioning, which is shocking in itself. its rare to come across any 3* and above hotel, anywhere in the world that does not have air con. we politely expressed our concerns with the reception staff, who also claimed she was the manager and she said that the hotel can offer an extra manual fan or cancel our stay. i said i had no reason at this point to cancel the stay but she was pushing this and it seemed like she really wanted us to cancel. i picked her up on this and this is where her attitude changed to something me and my wife were left totally baffled and shocked at the experience. Me and my wife wanted to stay out and have time away from our kids and we were forced to leave the hotel simply because this reception staff could not provide basic customer service. I will now never stay at this hotel again as my hard earned money should be more valued elsewhere

Well, what can I say, an absolutely bang on 5 star stay and service from the staff. Stayed for our anniversary. Had originally booked the mini studio which was already bigger than majority of rooms in the city but on an arrival we got upgraded to the penthouse.Rooms were clean and tidy also very tastefully decorated with a cool sixties vibe. Bean to coffee machine and fruit juicer in the kitchen an additional bonus.Veiw of the city was exceptional this was ramped up at night fall which was captivating and would of been the same regardless of room choice. From the outside the building does look a tad tired, but certainly not the case on the inside.

A central location a few minutes from Grand Central / New Street Station. A highly experienced team that went that extra mile when needed. A breath taking 16th floor view with as others have described complimentary welcome pack - thank you. A very comfortable and positive stay which is highly recommended if tired of the same old same hotel chain experiences #GoForIt?

The building is very easy to get to fromBirmingham New Street station, within a minute walking distanceThe building is well maintained, reception staff were very helpfulThe room however needs to be cleaned better. You can see some dirt and stain in the bathroom. The shower really needs something to prevent the water from flooding the bathroomI do like the extra facilities they add to the room like automatic coffee machine and fresh orangesExcellent view, just don't open the window if you're not brave, you can really just fall through... to the roof below

I stayed in one of the penthouse apartments for one night whilst visiting Birmingham recently and was hugely impressed. The room itself was spotless and the set up is amazing with two bedrooms with en-suites and a beautiful kitchen and living area which is fully equipped. The views are just amazing both during the day and at night. What stands it apart though is the staff. So welcoming and so helpful. I will be back!

First time I had stayed here, really enjoyed a 2 night stay, very centrally located and only 5 mins from New St station. First class apartment, spacious and well equipped, no noise from other guests, and with great views from the 16th floor. The reception team were great and allowed us to check in early and also upgraded us to a larger apartment which was really appreciated. Before booking I looked at a lot of different places as there was a lot of availability in the large hotel chains but very glad I went with Staying Cool and will be my first choice on future visits.

I really really wanted to like my stay at The Rotunda as I've heard so many great things about it, but unfortunately the experience was lacking in every aspect. My television wasn't working and the staff wasn't able to help with this, therefore, I resorted to just using my laptop. At midnight, my wifi cut off and asked me to re-enter the codes. It wouldn't allow me to log back in and kept making me click the 'get online' button yet brought me nowhere. I ended up having to use my data hotspot for the rest of my stay, which made meetings really tough. While the location is extremely prime as it is literally two steps from Bullring, it's also really awkward because no vehicles can access the front door, meaning if you order Deliveroo, you will have to go on a hunt for your courier! Also, taxis won't be able to stop right outside the building, meaning you will have to walk a few minutes, which defeats the purpose of a taxi... However, this would be prime for shopping lovers, as it's easy to pop back up to your hotel room and drop off your bags before heading out again etc.For some reason, it felt like my windows weren't closed properly, even though I've unlatched and latched again multiple times. It got so windy and noisy at night that it sounded like a helicopter was outside! There were also stains on my bedsheets and duvet, which was definitely not a great impression.Lastly, the amenities are quite limited. No toothbrush nor toothpaste - only shampoo, shower gel, and conditioner. In terms of the in-room snacks, they're a great selection but I realised - after opening one bag - that they already went past their Best Before Date!! I was really looking forward to the Chocolate Raspberry, but they tasted of laundry detergent? Not sure if it's because its been in the fridge for too long. Things like the toaster and the juicer looked quite dirty which put me off using it.All in all, I'm sure a lot of the cons weren't deliberate, but it surely needs a bit of fixing and TLC. Things like bed cleanliness, Wi-fi and a working television is honestly basic and really shouldn't be compromised. These are the things that will pull me from wanting to ever stay in an apart-hotel versus a hotel again...

This hotel was just perfect. Every member of staff were amazing. The room was just phenomenal and had everything that we needed. The beds were so comfortable and everything was just spot on. But what made our stay was the staff and the communicate prior to staying and the welcome we got and the service that we received whilst there. Precious is just outstanding and perfect as a customer facing agent. She couldn?t ever do we enough for us! I want to keep her. Lisa was also just perfect at being the greatest host too!!! It?s these 2 ladies that made the Rotunda for us!! Just the most perfect examples of bliss point spot on happy perfectly delivered customer care. Thank you.

The only concern I have about writing this review is that the prices might go up! This is absolutely outstanding. The studio and bathroom were clean and a decent size, offered a great view of the city centre, had all of the amenities that you could want - and more. In addition to what you would expect, there was a juicer with fruit, a pint of milk in the fridge and granola for breakfast. Additional options for purchase, but no need. Having tried out lots of different places for business travel overnight, this is definitely ranks up with my favourites. Great value.

Had an overnight stop here. I was in the city quite early, and they looked after my case until the apartment was ready. They texted as soon as it was ready, which was a couple of hours before check-in time. I really appreciated this! Reception desk staff were so warm, friendly, and helpful. The apartment was incredible! I had the cheapest one and despite that it was wonderful. Amazing views, brilliant amount of space, and cleverly designed. Apart from the kitchen cupboards, which were very high, and if you're short in stature as I am, lots of things will be out of reach! But I'm sure they'd resolve this somehow if it was a problem - it wasn't for me. The quality of the furnishings, comfort of the bed, standard of the bathroom etc were all brilliant. And you can't get a better location in Birmingham centre! The next time I need to stay in Birmingham, this will be my first choice.
