I am buying supplies for a very old building and having minor challenges with finding what I need but nothing major. For regular daily construction needs this would be one of my regular go to stores.

I wanted to create a small box to hide the water feed into the house, which looked hideous. I had previously purchased artificial grass seam glue from here and staff were very helpful, so I called upon their services again. Eric was so helpful and understanding and could see my vision. I gave him the dimensions and he cut the pieces to perfection for this water feed box . I got home and assembled the frame and attached the board pieces Eric had cut for me, I was chuffed and happy, thanks mate ?

LADIES DO NOT SHOP HERE.Had an awful experience here was shouted at and abused by the manager Dave(if that was his name)came in asked for help he said he was working on my order.Half hour later aggressively told me I need to wait an hour due to other customers when it was pretty quiet.I advised he said he would help me with my order and why was he shouting in front of other customers.Long story short he said my builder should have come in and ignored another customer shouting a degrotary comment about women.He ignored the customers sexist comment and told me he was not paid to get involved and continued shouting.He came back with 10 toilet fittings and the wrong timber and an incorrect fitting.He called his manager whilst I was in store to cover his own back and then continued to shout at me.I am now out of pocket as too embarrassed to get a refund on bits of my incorrect order.Worst experience of my life as a woman we should not be intimidated by men and belittled when trying our best.Theres no point in a formal complaint if this is what the manager is like.

Love selco it's a brilliant place to go for all you need. The staff are friendly and very helpful. I wish you had a heater there tho it's freezing.

I was impressed with Selco Tyseley. I bought a branded hosepipe, which when I got home proved to be complex to put together especially as I had never done this before and assumed it would be more or less good to go. I brought it back to store and Neil put it together for me and then helped explain what I needed to do with the outside tap at home to connect it as it involved unscrewing the bottom part off. He put effort into helping me and I am grateful. I find staff much better know their stuff in this store compared with some of the other local DIY stores where staff are less knowledgeable and have to say they do not know.

The timber quality is a disgrace and prices not competitive. Many of the female staff are extremely miserable. Go elsewhere
