Hadn?t been in since the store moved up the shopping centre. So popped in (24|08|2025). Spotted a shirt I wanted to buy, but decided to browse, lost track of time and saw who was very clearly the Supervisor/Team Leader staring at me from across the store, I then realised it was closing time, and I said sorry and she decided to shout at me: ?Look, you being here means I cannot go home!? So I decided not to buy anything and leave. There?s no need to be rude, unprofessional and cold. What an absolute abuse of power. I apologised again, as I left and she said abruptly ?I just really wanna go home!? Extremely uncouth.

Generally this store has been good. However I went in one day, brought a few articles of clothing. I pop them on the counter for the till clerk to put through, I gave her my blue light xard she said you cannot use them with asale items, I said but can I use them with non sale as some are no n sale, she said I should have given he r my card at the begining now she has to start again. Through them out the bag with one of the items nearly hitting me and then trying to hide her annoyance at the fact I am not psychic and putting them throught the till again. I took my items and didn't even bother to say thank you.

To anyone considering applying for Management positions with Peacocks I would strongly advise you to not waste your time.After taking me through an entire recruitment process on the understanding the salary would be £26k p/a to manage the Kings Heath store, on the day the contract was due to be mailed to me I received a phone call from the head of HR informing me that the salary instead sat at 25k p/a.If a company is prepared to do that over a salary, goodness only knows what they would be prepared to do over internal policies.If it was an oversight by HR they need to do their job properly. If it wasn?t an oversight then they were complicit in the lie. I?d say it was more the case of the latter of those two scenarios. Shocking ethics.Thankfully I wasn?t desperate and declined the role as I was prepared to hold out for what I felt I was worth. Thank goodness I did as I ended up with a 32k salary with a far better organisation.So if all you?ve heard about working for Peacocks / Bon Marche group is bad, trust me it?s correct and the reality even worse than one could imagine.
