I?m writing to share my experience during a recent visit to the Kings Heath shop. I approached an older staff member and politely asked for a receipt. When I didn?t hear a response, I repeated the request?again, politely?assuming she may not have heard me the first time.
To my surprise, she responded in a very rude and defensive manner, saying it wasn?t her fault and that I needed to wait for the printer, along with other unnecessary remarks. I didn?t intend to be pushy; I simply wanted to make sure my request was acknowledged.
I believe this situation could have been handled more professionally. A simple acknowledgment like, ?Sure, it?ll be ready once the printer is working,? would have been more than enough.
I understand that everyone has tough days, but I also believe that respectful communication should remain a standard?especially in customer-facing roles.

I had purchased a pack of 2 nightwear for my daughter from this store I had left them in the bag until I wanted to put them on her. When I finally went to grab one both had stains on them. I saw them when I was in the store but thought it was the pattern and I was in a rush but once I had a good look at them I noticed they ain't supposed to look like that. My sister went to the store with the items and receipt and they said they don't come like that that I had done that at home which really annoyed me as they have been in the peacocks bag and not been touched ? so I will not be shopping here again this shop is a joke

Absolutely ridiculous experience, on 01/01/2025 at the Kings Heath branch, which I will be taking further with Peacocks HR.
Wanted to return a £10 bag that was in original condition with a receipt, literally a simple less than 5 minute transaction. But no. I was asked by the assistant for my email to which i replied no thank you id like a paper receipt as i do not want to give my details. The lady abruptly and rudely replied no i need your email to which i replied no thank you again. She said i need to give her the email in order to process the refund. I refused again and was taken back by the way she was demanding details from me. She said that it is the company?s t&c?s however this wasnt mentioned on the receipt or their website under the refund conditions. She then proceeded to ask for my POSTCODE, house number full name. I was suprised she didnt ask for my national insurance number.
Im a member of management in a very respectable retail store and although i completely understand that for loss prevention measures some companies ask for email addresses you cannot force the customer to give details unwillingly.
I cannot explain how rude the assistant was, she made me feel incredibly uncomfortable and made faces towards other staff members when i walked away. I was a step away from requesting for a manager however i was with my mum who was in a rush and just didnt have the time to do so.
If the terms and conditions FORCE and REQUIRE the customer to leave important and private information this should be stated very clearly on the receipt as this will deter many customers.

Purchased items at Kings Heath. Regular shopper here so had been given a voucher on previous shop. Could not find it so assistant asked me few questions and was happy to oblige by giving me a voucher in store towards my purchase today. She asked the Manager there about something, she came over and started undermining the assistant saying customer should be handing in a voucher (while I'm stood there!) She was not happy I was getting a discount off my shop. She looked like she was bullying the Assistant. Poor customer service provided by whoever that Manager is. Needs to go!

Possibly the worst customer service in a store Ive ever experienced.
Waited while the 3 ladies behind the store chatted so decided just to go up to one of the tills and hope someone would serve me. None of them even looked up at me and the lady I stood infront of expecting her to serve me, just stood there and said 'not me, go down there" to another lady serving. I obviously wasn't to their liking, maybe because I was in my work clothes.... Maybe they thought they were above me I have no idea, because the lady that did end up severing me rang the item up, and put the reciept on the shirt I had bought and walked away. There was no "hi" or "that's £12" or "here's your receipt" nothing she just walked away. It was absolutely disgusting and whoever is in charge of that store really needs to either get new staff or train the ones you have in customer service! Needless to say I won't be returning.

I actually love most clothes especially the dresses sold in store but unfortunately the bad attitude of most of the staff means I certainly will not be shopping at my local Kings Heath branch again.
One lady in particular is extremely unpleasant and rude, I'm amazed she hasn't lost her job.
I've worked in retail and this kind of dreadful service would never be tolerated in the companies I have worked for.
Only gave two stars as the staff really bring the store down.
I've shopped in other Peacocks and never had a problem with the staff. Always friendly and pleasant.
Possibly the awful one is bringing the rest of the staff down. Know I would hate working in that atmosphere
Im just glad I have choices and don't need to shop there.

To anyone considering applying for Management positions with Peacocks I would strongly advise you to not waste your time. After taking me through an entire recruitment process on the understanding the salary would be £26k p/a to manage the Kings Heath store, on the day the contract was due to be mailed to me I received a phone call from the head of HR informing me that the salary instead sat at 25k p/a.If a company is prepared to do that over a salary, goodness only knows what they would be prepared to do over internal policies. If it was an oversight by HR they need to do their job properly. If it wasn?t an oversight then they were complicit in the lie. I?d say it was more the case of the latter of those two scenarios. Shocking ethics.Thankfully I wasn?t desperate and declined the role as I was prepared to hold out for what I felt I was worth. Thank goodness I did as I ended up with a 32k salary with a far better organisation. So if all you?ve heard about working for Peacocks / Bon Marche group is bad, trust me it?s correct and the reality even worse than one could imagine.

**PSA** Disgusting behaviour from the ?manager? who felt entitled to physically assault me after harassing and verbally abusing me, because I asked her to stop being so rude. Police have everything on record. I was hit twice in the face! No action taken because I didn?t photograph my eye injury. If you have any issues of violence from staff at the store, don?t hesitate to contact the police?the Peacock head office aren?t interested in serious complaints of assault by their staff, you won?t even get an apology.

My preference is not slim fit or skinny fit. I just want normal fit and sometimes high street clothing shops just don't have what I'm in need. So i go to peacocks and has what I need. The choices of clothing is general smart, casual and homewear. Prices are good and quality of clothing is lasting.

Been there 3 times in recent weeks. Poor attitude from the checkout staff. No smile, no please, no thanks, no manners. Its like they didn?t want to be there or they didn't want me to be there.
