10-4 on a Saturday, why bother opening at all. Make room for a charity with people who actually turn up

I'm a big lover of charity shops and this has to be my favourite it is a small shop so not alot of space to look around whilst there's other customers but it has the most amazing items that you don't see in other charity shops. They have alot of old items vintage antique quirky stuff. You find some gems here and the prices are very reasonable. I love coming here when they're open but I wish they were open most days of the week. Friendly staff also.

My favourite charity shop, great prices. The team are always friendly. I especially enjoy the odd sale in there too.

There are two Oxfam's in Moseley, one is a book shop and this one is a multi-purpose Oxfam shop. They sell clothes, wallets, music, DVD's, musical instruments, ornaments etc. I think that this shop is a little hidden away, despite it actually being on St. Mary's row. It is on a stretch of the road that people rush down to get into the centre of the village. The front of this shop is like a thoroughfare into the real realms of Moseley. I bought a wallet to replace my old one. My old wallet was bought in the US where the money is a lot slimmer. As a result, the wallets are a lot slimmer as well. I'd spent years trying to cram British Pounds into it and had had enough. I gave them the old American Wallet and they were most pleased that I had recycled it. They also wanted Women's bras, it was part of a new scheme to recycle the materials that are in a bra and donate them to the Third World. I wish the volunteers and organisation all the best in what they do, I'm sure their hard work makes a real difference.

I have to admit I'm not a big fan of charity shops. I can never be bothered to sift through all the tat to find the odd gem that I know exist in these places. however, last week I was passing by the Oxfam in Moseley - not the book and music one, the general one... oh yes, there are 2 Oxfams on almost the same street - anyway, I'm walking past and I saw some really nice vintage cameras. I ended up buying an old Kodak, the Instamatic 133 - a camera from the 1960s - for just one pound! It's in great condition too, I don't even care if it works it just looks good! Once I'd ventured in I had a mooch, they stock clothes, some house stuff and kitchen utilities, like mugs, tea glasses. Nothing else that really caught my eye but I'm sure there would be other neat little finds in there from time to time. The woman working there didn't offer any help, but I personally prefer this, especially in a store where you would clearly just be browsing and wouldn't go for something specific. Regardless, the store its so small that you won't need any help. While it lacks in books and cds (just go over the road for those) you might be lucky enough to find some cool odds and ends, especially if you're the kind of person who digs rummaging around these places.

One of two Oxfam outlets in Moseley Village, the other being a dedicated book shop on the main Alcester Road. This is more of a general Oxfam charity shop store, so here you'll find clothes, bric-a-brac, books, records, children's toys, and so on. Part of the problem with Oxfam having dedicated book and music shops is that, as you would expect, the vast majority of the decent stuff gets cherry-picked for those outlets and only the real rubbish is left in the racks of the general stores. That said, I can't help myself from having a quick flick through the racks, just in case. There are a lot of young families in the area so this is both good and bad news if you are looking for something for the kids. It's good news in that local people are generous with their unwanted toys and clothes, but bad news because lots of local people know this and so anything really good will probably go quite quickly. Having said all of that, this is always worth popping in to.

Oxfam in mosely is a small store but you can pick up some really nice things. Mosley is quite small and there are not many shops. For a charity shop they have alot of stock and also have a clearance basket for clothes and a clearance basket for other things. I brough some Elisabeth arden lip-gloss from here for three pounds brand new. Really good bargain. The staff are really friendly and offer you help when you walk in. They also ask you if you want them to wrap if for you. A really nice service. They have alot of book instore and teddy bears. They have alot of me to you bears which are half price in here. They offer a collection service if you tell them you have items you want to donate they take your details and come when you are free. Really good
