Food was good, overall I think a bit expensive for what it is. The service however wasn?t great, when we did want to pay it took around 15 minutes to try and flag down a waiter to ask for the bill. We then had to wait because there was only one working card machine for the whole restaurant. They added service onto the bill which we didnt feel that the charge reflected how much we should have paid

I enjoy medicine for their cakes. We went for lunch and I was underwhelmed. The chicken burger was £13 with no sides. Was quite expensive for a lunch outing. No option of toasties in the mailbox medicine.

Waited 10 minutes for two coffee to arrive, when they did they was luke warm, i think the girl behind the counter had made them and they had stood for a while, i took them back, the server who i gave them back to said oh sorry I'll bring some more, after another 8 minutes we still hadn't got the second drinks,
For the price of two coffee in this place you would expect so much better, this place is a gem of a place, but unfortunately you've lost two regular customers.
(This is the resturant area I'm talking about, not the foyer bit in the middle of the mail box. We went there last week and the server there didn't even acknowledge us, just spoke in foreign to someone who was sitting at the counter, he did our drinks and didn't tell us he had done our drinks, think this place needs to step it up a little, our last two visits have not been great.)
Also the center take away type area, takes to long to get served, need another coffee machine and another person getting the food.
Disappointment is a understatement.

Visited this company for the first time in The Mailbox, after hearing good reports about it. The decor was good and well presented. It was clean and well laid out. The restaurant was very quiet, with not many clients, so lacked atmosphere.
We were greeted by a gentlemen in a friendly manner. He was informed that we had booked a table and the name to which it was under. He then proceeded to ask if we had booked. Good start. We were shown to a table and given a menu to look at, the waiter then went away. We proceeded to wait some 15 minutes before our order was taken. This set the standard for the rest of the meal. The drinks and food eventually arrived. This was presentable and looked pleasing to the eye. I ordered the Smoked Salmon Tartine. The Rye toast, which by the nature of the bread is dry, however with no sauce or liquid with the topping, wasn't easy to eat. Also, with the French Toast my companion ordered, there was more toast than topping. On the whole, we were disappointed, especially for the price. When we finally received the bill, they added a service charge automatically. I have no problem with gratuities where it is appropriate, but to add one when service wasn't given is not appropriate. It then took a further 10 minutes and three members of staff to adjust the bill. Not sure I would recommend Medicine Bakery and to be honest, I will find somewhere else to eat next time.

One of the best Classic Eggs Benedict I've had and that is saying something as it is my favourote dish. Partner had the Halloumi Brioche and absolutely enjoyed that too. The hollandaise sauce has the perfect flavour and balance. Very relaxing setup with excellent service

Wow, this place has gone significantly downhill.
Staff were atrocious, wouldn't even look at you when speaking to you.
Ordered a drink and rudely told it wasn't available as 'it was really popular today' -it was 12oclock on a Sunday lol.
Tried to swap the big mushroom on the breakfast for another (non meat) item and was told no to a hash brown swap as 'the hash browns are too expensive'. The waiter offered me to buy a £5 hash brown and then use the plate it comes on to place my big mushroom from the breakfast lol.
We politely asked for an extra 5 minutes to just change our order completely - waiter came back to clean the table next to us after about 5mins and didn't even acknowledge us, at this point we decided to just leave it.
Stood up, he didn't even flinch, carried on wiping the table next to us and didn't say a word. Ignored us completely.
Very poor experience all in all, and we appreciate the changing of menu items can not always be catered for, but the offered alternative was an insult.
Used to be a lovely place but the staff completely ruined this one for us and we certainly won't be returning any time soon.

Awful, rude, dangerous. Table missing a leg (no signs, no warnings) so when my wife put her coffee on it, it lurched towards her spilling hot coffee down her legs and burning both legs. The staff couldn't have been less helpful or cared any less. They just stood and watched and when we said something to them, all they said was. 'they aren't our tables so not our problem'. Really caring of your customer who was burnt by your coffee. Avoid. Awful.

We ordered from the takeout area, and my daughter had an oreo muffin, which she said was delicious. However, my lemon meringue was not so good. The Italian meringue topping was good, as was the lemon inside. The pastry sides had an burnt taste and was very hard. The pastry base was a few cms thick, my fork couldn't break it and just wasn't edible. This was a shame as we didn't know until we got home.

I came here for breakfast with my family and honestly I?m absolutely disappointed? First of all we got sat down and anybody came to check if we were ready to order we had to call the waitress two times to come and take the order. When the food arrived it was not what we expected so I swapped my breakfast with my dad and his Benedict toast was freezing cold? anyone came to check back on the food so when the waitress came to clear the table she asked how was the food and I told her that I didn?t enjoy at all but nothing was done about it? when my mum requested the bill we were charged £60 for a breakfast wich it?s not worth even half of that money, and on top of that she charged us for service charge? because we needed to leave and we were in a rush but I would have definitely ask for a service refund if I would had the time. Completely disappointed I?m definitely not coming back.

Good spot for great food. Smaller menu choice than the New Street/Selfridges stores, but a good pitstop for the essentials. Well baked food & consistent standards.

Went here for lunch, didn't book in advance as there were lots of available slots online so presumed it wasn't too busy. When we arrived, we were in a small queue with 2 groups ahead of us who also hadn't booked. In the queue, we could see multiple empty tables across the restaurant of varying sizes. The two groups ahead of us were seated, but when we approached the member of staff on the table he stated that they were fully booked and we'd need to come back in a few hours to see if there was availability then, then offered the smaller bakery round the corner. He offered no explanation as to why they were "fully booked" despite having spare tables, even when asked why there were tables available online to book. He was quite firm and not very pleasant to talk to. It wasn't till a member of my party proceeded to book a table on the website that they eventually let us in. The person we spoke to came across very straight-faced and I felt very unwelcome to begin with. Once seated and with other staff members serving us, everything went smoothly and food was great, with no extended wait times on being served, tables around us still available, and no other indicator that they were over-booked etc. Couldn't see anywhere that stated that walk-ins are not welcome or that you MUST book so really unsure what the issue was, so going to assume that he was just rude and didn't like the look of us.
TLDR; food was tasty, service from initial member of staff poor and unusually unwelcoming of the group due to being "fully booked" despite there being free tables and free bookable slots online. Wouldn't recommend due to service.

Been here a few times. The hot chocolate is bland, just tastes like milk ?? and had a loaf cake slice (I can't remember which flavour) which was kind of average.
For really good quality food and drink, I would recommend Elio cafe which is also in the mailbox

We had a private party here to celebrate an elopement and it was perfect. The space is beautiful and was big enough for a small dance floor (~40 people).
They catered for us with canapes (which were huge) and the food was incredible. We had an entirely plant based menu and everyone raved about the food. The cocktail menu was a storm and non-drinkers were catered for with a diverse menu too.
The staff were efficient, attentive, and nice to chat to. Chef Hollie there was our main contact and couldn't have been a better partner to put on the event.
I've always loved a coffee and cake at Medicine but I have an entirely new appreciation for their food and drink now.

Although expensive at £4 they have the best jam doughnuts
