Do not recommend at all. It took 40 minutes to be served, yet after an hour of being there our drinks still hadn?t arrived, let alone food. You are only allocated an hour slot. Most of the food menu was unavailable so little options left for my child to choose from. We ended up having to leave and request a refund as little one started crying about hunger pains. All customers were complaining. The cats were all scared from being hassled by all the kids. It is also a bit of a free for all with kids constantly clambering under our table to pet the cats.

I want to share an important warning for anyone, especially local teenagers, who may be considering applying for a job at this kitty café. They advertise jobs and invite young people in for what they call a ?trial shift.? Unfortunately, this is nothing more than a way for them to get a full day of free labour.
During the trial, applicants are made to sweep and mop floors, clean toilets, empty bins, wipe tables, and even serve as wait staff. After all that hard work, instead of giving any feedback or a genuine job opportunity, the café simply ghosts the applicants ? no reply, no explanation, no job.
This is unfair, exploitative, and highly discouraging for young people who are just starting out in the workplace. A trial shift should be about assessing skills and fit for the role, not using unpaid workers to do all the cleaning and serving for a day.
To all the teenagers being invited for these ?trial shifts?: please be aware of what?s really happening here.

Absolutely aweful experience yesterday at the Kitty cafe in Birmingham, far too many ppl there it was obviously massively overbooked, we waited 25 minutes all crammed into a busy corridor just to be seated and 2 families got seated before us, the excuse given for 1 of them was they had children when I literally had 2 children with me ? very stressful experience, far too many ppl there took about a further 20 minutes just to get drinks brought out. Wasn?t the staffs fault they were working flat out doing their absolute best, I felt very sorry for them all, it?s clearly a management issue and the very few cats that were there were overly harassed and it can?t have been nice for them!
Absolutely awful experience and a total waste of money I won?t be going again!

The cafe on a whole was a nice place, with lots of cats and plenty of places for them to go if they didn?t want fuss. However I do think this venue should have a child free policy for kids under a certain age. I understand that the kids get excited to see the cats but I found that whenever I was approached by a cat it was chased off by an unsupervised child clearly not following the rules. Because of this the cats seemed anxious.
The service was also very slow, our food took almost an hour to come, I understand it was busy but we only had an hour at the table. As soon as the food finally arrived we were approached by a member of staff telling us that our time was up and as soon as we finished the food we must leave, so we ended up not even finishing it. If you want to come here, I would recommend coming in school times so it isn?t filled with children chasing cats around. But I personally wouldn?t come here again.

Unfortunately I had high hopes but it didn't live up to my expectations.
We are a family who have cats at home, we know they can be stubborn and not the most sociable of animals. Highly independent.
I felt the décor was a migraine waiting to happen. It was busy. Took ages to be seated and a lady who clearly wasn't meant to be on meet and greet seated us, but I heard her mumble to a colleague where was another particular member of staff - who I assume is meant to be on meet and greet. She was pleasant but I could feel her frustration.
We faced the staff cubby hole, where they stood, chit chatting and I found it hard to get their attention to order. The tables next to us weren't cleared quickly or covered over by the previous customer. When they left this was the time I actually saw the cats, they came to eat the food! This is when I thought they shouldn't be eating this and carefully covered the food over, they soon disappeared.
Which brings me onto the cats - which we saw two! Obviously they are over stimulated and don't want to be touched or played with by strangers. I did walk around but they were hiding and just wanted to sleep in peace, hidden away.
This whole visit made me question whether its actually right to have this type of café to be open at all.
I won't be returning and I'll be heading to the one in Solihull where its quiet and calm and you can actually watch cats sleep rather than see them whizz past to hide.

It is a lovely place, however me and my partner got put in seats in the walkway where all of the children were running passed and scaring the cats. We got told we was not allowed to move seats even though there were empty seats. We could not relax and did not get time with any of the cats as the children were scaring them.

This was a lovely way for me and my older children to spend an hour. The staff are so friendly and the atmosphere is very relaxed with plenty of laid back sofa seating and arm chairs. The drinks and food menu is all very reasonably priced.
The cats are just adorable.
The only thing that was frustrating was a couple of younger children who persisted to run at the cats and be very overbearing whenever they appeared which was intimidating for the cats. The biggest frustration was that the parent sat scrolling through their phone oblivious, letting the children get on with it which is really not appropriate. Inevitably one of the children was scratched and they left shortly afterwards which was a relief as there was only adults and older children left and the cats seemed to be immediately more relaxed. This is no way a criticism of the cafe at all and the cats are in their home environment and I feel that parents of younger children need to be more aware of this and accompany their children around and relay the rules to them so as not to overwhelm the cats.
We will definitely be visiting here again.

Paid £8 for what I thought would be a relaxing experience with cats. Instead, I got a front-row seat to a chaotic children?s playpen disguised as a cat café. I?ve been to the Kitty Café in Nottingham several times and foolishly assumed this one might live up to the name. Spoiler: it didn?t.
It was a Saturday, so yes, I expected crowds. What I didn?t expect was toddlers chasing kittens around like it was a theme park attraction. At one point, a group of kids literally cornered a trembling white kitten under a sofa ? despite the café?s own rules clearly prohibiting that kind of behavior. But rules are only useful if the staff enforce them, which they clearly didn?t.
Speaking of staff: while taking my order, one felt the need to inform me ? unprompted ? ?you?re not that interesting.? Whether that was meant as British humor or just thinly-veiled rudeness (or worse), it was entirely unprofessional. I let it go, but really, that?s the kind of customer service training you can?t make up.
Thirty minutes later, when I tried to discreetly flag my concern about the kids hassling the cats, the staff dismissed me with, ?the cats know their way.? Excellent. I suppose trembling under chairs is just part of their master plan for self-care?
If this is what passes for animal welfare and hospitality, then congratulations ? you?ve created the first cat café that actively makes both guests and cats uncomfortable. Safe to say I won?t be returning, but I do hope this review helps others manage their expectations.

Vegan options there?s nothing and the vegan pizza is just a pizza base with sauce and a few veg and for £12 you could get better else where the cats were lovely however young children and some parents were just constantly chasing the cats never gave any one else a chance come to treat time and because the staff knew a group of people who were there they were given treats over other people and when my child tried to look at the cats she was shoved out the way by grown ups and there older children the rules of not chasing the cats is definitely not followed which is such a shame walked away very disappointed

The cafe itself is overpriced (£3.99 for a milkshake that was literally just yazoo) and the cats all look terrified all the time. We went and there was a single waitress for a full cafe, and she was visibly stressed and trying to do her best with no support from anyone else. Eventually the welfare officer had to come out and start clearing tables. My one question is genuinely this: why is the welfare officer back of house instead of walking around the restaurant and monitoring customers?? If you need to, have two officers (one in the cafe and one in the cats space), but these cats are clearly unhappy, stressed, overcrowded, and it cannot be good for them. The cafe crowds so many people into the space to make money, completely ignoring how overly loud and stimulating this is to cats. Yes the cats have a back of house space to go to, but it seems that the door to this is through the door to the toilets, and relies on people opening that door. I saw too many cats at that door, trying to leave, surrounded by people, basically pinned to the door. Horrible to see. Children are left to roam unsupervised and the amount of times I saw children chase cats around while these poor animals backed away in fear, with literally NO ONE calling them out is frankly embarrassing for any establishment that claims to care about animal welfare. This could be a good space and the rescue facility is a good idea, but staff NEED to be stricter with picking people out of the cafe and they NEED to limit the amount of people in the space. Unless things change significantly, this cafe is purely an animal torture house disguised by pretty decorations and overpriced sandwiches.

went here with my girlfriend , we ordered 2 pizzas but the wait for one of the pizzas was especially long . we asked the server if it will be here soon , but the server claimed that we did not order 2 pizzas . after 5 minutes of that incident , they said that our booking was over . i am dissapointed and upset with the amount of children harassing the cats , a boy fell into my table and multiple children touched our personal belongings . 1 STAR !!!!!

The food was lovely and the cats and staff were so lovely however I don?t think children should be allowed here. They were harassing the cats, chasing them and the parents were encouraging this poor behaviour rather than monitoring their children. Unfortunately there was no staff to stop these kids from picking up, grabbing and throwing things at the poor cats. When my family and I went we were very respectful towards the cats and the cats therefore came to our table a lot. However this led to children complaining about the cats being at our table and coming over to grab at the cats honestly invading our personal space. Overall, a fantastic place but slightly ruined by the lack of staff supervision :(
