We arrived and waited for our room key. We was given it by a blonde girl then was left to find our way. The room was comfy with tea coffee, toiletries towels etc the usual room template. There was children running up the corridors upto midnight and then again from 6am ( NOT THE TOBYS FAULT ). NOW BREAKFAST. We came down and queued at the bar and was told to help ourselves Asked for cutlery and was told to queue at the bar. Went to the coffee machine no cups when I asked for a cup I was told to queue at the bar. My children asked for coco pops but I couldn?t find as advertised on the menu. When I asked where it was I was told I had to queue at the bar for some. I looked for some orange juice but couldn?t see any so I asked again and you?ve got it it was behind the bar. There was pancakes with chocolate sauce and marshmallows advertised on the menu but could only find syrup so we had the cooked breakfast which was really nice. WHY DONT YOU PUT CUPS NEXT TO THE COFFEE MACHINE AND PUT CUTLERY ON THE TABLE AND CHILL THE OJ? THIS WOULD BE LESS OF A HASSLE TO EVERYONE. On departure we put the key in the drop off box and left through the bar. No goodbye no how was your stay nothing. Not even eye contact

We stayed here before our holiday and had the worst night sleep ever. Bed was uncomfortable and the pillows flat and hard. The room was clean and the bathroom was a good size. Unfortunately our breakfast was inedible?worst breakfast ever as the food was over cooked and dry as if been left under a light or cooked early and just left to keep warm. It was not the start we needed to go off on holiday.

Comfy night in a quiet room away from road and very comfortable bed. Had a great night's sleep. Good size room and huge bed. Able to get a roast dinner and had a lovely breakfast in morning. Very convenient for M5. Great.

I think this hotel is great for it's rating in Birmingham. I have been coming here for over 3 years and always feel relieved when a room is available. Their family sized rooms are a generous size and comfortably caters for my husband and I and 2 children. Its location is fabulous, as it's only a 10 minutes drive to my father's, when I come to see him in Edgbaston. I did recommend this hotel to a neighbour who was looking for advice on where their relatives could stay. Staff are personable and polite!

We stayed 1 night and booked as it was near to where we needed to be. Arrived about 9.30pm. Room was clean and tidy although freezing cold on arrival. The heating was off so turned it on. It was an electric heater which took a while to warm the room. The shower room was lovely apart from the support rod for the shower head was broken. You had to hold the shower head instead of standing under it. The light above the main mirror wasn?t working. The bed was comfortable. There was no phone in the room and we needed to call down and ask for an ironing board so had to walk down and hunt for the housekeeping staff to ask. All in all with a few improvements this could be quite a nice place to stay.

Stayed for 2 nights. Comfy bed excellent value breakfast buffet. Simple service. Couldn?t fault it. A great start to my day and a carvery after work. Friendly staff and chefs, always happy to help. A very busy place though. Booking would be advisable

Stayed for a weekend, lovely place, room was nice, ground floor with disabled access the room was big enough and the bathroom was well appointed. One down side to the room was the lighting was not the best but other than that was good value for money, and as we paid for breakfast as well we got the Toby buffet breakfast which was awesome.

Travelled 3 hours to Birmingham and they cancelled our disabled access room as we arrived, just before check in. No real explanation for it and left two young girls stuck in Birmingham with no where to stay. Disgusting treatment.

I was booked to stay here for 4 nights but left after one. I received a call on my way to the hotel to say they had 'just discovered' a damp problem in the room. It was a wheelchair access room which I needed. They said they had no others available so could they cancel?!? I had nowhere else to go to that night, due to no notice being given so had no choice but to stay that night. On arrival, I soon discovered that it was even worse than they had me believe! They offered to give me a second room to sleep in from the second night but every time I needed the bathroom I would have to use the damp room! This was a health hazard! On talking to a senior member of staff the next morning, I was told damp was a problem throughout the hotel and it kept being reported to the general manager but nothing was being done! The hotel should be shut for a total refurbishment, people could become ill if they stay here at the moment! The Toby Carvery as part of it was very nice but make sure you leave after eating! I don't plan on returning even if refurbishment happens, it is in a poor location without a car. Most of the staff I met were not pleasant and helpful, a poor reflection on the chain overall.

Good room, convenient location, avoided queues in the Toby Carvery as we were staying onsite. Smooth check in didn?t need to venture elsewhere - prefect spot as was due to be admitted to Royal Orthopaedic next day. Unfortunately kitchen was down next morning cut complimentary toast etc was provided. Plenty Of parking spaces - would stay here again.

This hotel has great transport links and a good sized car park meaning it is excellent for visiting the city. The room was clean and well equipped although the shower sealant was discoloured. The staff were welcoming and very helpful.

Lovely - spacious room, very clean, nice size TV and comfy bed - shame the pillows were very very uncomfortable The walk to Sandwell aquatic centre took 45 minutes each way but prepare for an extra 10 minutes walk around to the start of the queue

I stayed here during the Commonwealth Games. The price was competitive for Birmingham and was only a 20-minute bus ride out of the city centre. Check in was ok - could have been better, but there were quite a few checking-in at the same time. The room was large, with a massive bed ... so comfortable. Had breakfast a few days - good value although would have preferred some porridge some mornings. Joan, the breakfast host, however, was a delight. She was chirpy and kind which really got the day off to a good start. If I was staying in Birmingham again - I would stay here.

The hotel was better than we expected. It was a lovely big room with a very comfortable bed and a beautiful modern bathroom. It?s part of a Toby carvery which wouldn?t be my preferred choice of dining, but the breakfast was good and competitively priced. All in all I would definitely go back to this hotel.
