Booked to diagnotise and paid £40 for my C220 for ABS fault warning light was on,then been told by them sensors are damaged and better to replace both sides for £300 or one side £150. I went to some where else ,and the guy just took the sensor out,cleaned it and worked as brand new one, he didn't want to take money and I paid him £20. Just don't waste your time and your money

Avoid at all costs ? worst garage experience I?ve ever had
If I could give zero stars, I would. This is by far the worst garage I?ve ever dealt with.
I didn?t originally book my van here ? I was moved the day before my service because my van wouldn?t fit on another garage?s lift. Fair enough. But this meant I had to drive 20 minutes further, take a day off work, and make my son late for school. A huge inconvenience, though not their fault.
I dropped the van off at 8:30am. By 5:30pm, I?d heard nothing, so I tried calling ? no answer. I ended up getting a relative to take me there, only to find the van hadn?t even been touched ? still exactly where I left it.
The man there apologised and offered £80 off, rebooking me for the following week. Again, I took a day off work, paid for taxis home ? and again, by 5:30pm, no word and no one answering the phone. I got another taxi to the garage and, once again, the van still hadn?t been worked on.
No explanation, no heads-up, no apology this time. Just completely unacceptable service. I was reassured multiple times that the job would be done, and it wasn?t ? twice. Absolutely disgraceful.

Our company representative drove to your Perry Barr branch on Tuesday 15th April 2025 and your garage changed the spare wheel with a new tyre on it with the passenger side front wheel that had issues and placed that in the back of the Van.
Around 10.00 am on 16/04/2025 the van was dropped off at Perry Barr to have 4 tyres to be changed I did state that the passenger side that had been changed needed to go back as a spare and that the lights needed to be looked at, I left the manager with my contact number.
We had no contact from the depot and I called at 3 pm only to be told that another van was stuck on the Ramp, I stated why don?t you do it on the floor with a jack and the rep on the phone said that is what he would do next. We had no call and again I rang at 4 pm only to be told that the Tyres had just arrived and that the work had not been started, I stated that time was getting on and that we will struggle to pick up the van as the work involved would take time I was assured by the manager we would get van back before 5.30 pm as long as I got the authorisation code to complete the purchase order I gave that to him and it was the last I heard from them as I chased them with calls from 5.20 pm to 6 pm and no one answered, I even spoke to customer services who tried to ring them and they could get no answer as well.
On the morning of 17 April 2025 I tried to call the branch at 8 am however there was no answer, at the same time on another line I contacted customer services who listened to the call as the Perry Barr branch answered after 12 minutes after discussions the branch manager said van was complete and he would bring it straight away.
We waited 30 minutes and checked GPS and we saw no movement I called the branch, and the rep said his manager had gone and parked the van up.
We then made our way to Perry Barr and collected the keys off the manager, I proceeded to the van and noticed all 4 tyres had been changed on the outside of the vehicle, however when I opened the back door the spare wheel had the same tyre on it that was changed originally with the brand-new spare.
I wanted and confronted the manager, and I was asked why I was getting smart about this, I said all I have asked is what tyres he or his staff had changed.
It took me 20 minutes to drill into their brains what they had done I was shown incorrect tyres and challenged on my accusations however I had taken photos of the wheels before I handed van in.
After seeing these the manager looked further and found the good tyre and eventually placed that on the spare.
This whole process was full of lies deceit and false accusations.
I am absolutely discussed at how this Branch has treated me and let down our company. That if I did not have the pictures, I would not have had a leg to stand on.
I expect a full investigation to be done with CCTV camera footage and calls to be looked at as I am not going to except this type of aggressive behaviour especially when another customer was sitting in the reception area.
from then up-until today I have not heard from your area manager what rubbish customer services and the public and businesses trust your experts to give correct advice and only change items that need to be changed what kind of thief's have you got working at this place that do not recognise a brand new tyre to a used faulty one and still change it sorry the trust has gone and your customer services from your area manager is truly lacking as he has made no contact with me. i urge all public to stay away from this unprofessional garage

Disappointed, had work van booked in to have a tire changed, spoke to them twice two days before, got there van placed on lift, tire taken off , no replacement tire!!! One & a half hour wasted. Tire ordered again, I was told they?d call when the tire arrives so I could have it replaced. Apparently they called ,held for a minute then hung up, this is what the young lady that I spoke to. I reminded her that I?ve called them a few times & been on hold for 5-7 minutes. In my opinion this young lady had an attitude. It?s a school minibus that transports children so from a safety aspect good tires are important. I would never bring my personal vehicle there for any work to be done.

I want to share the horrible experience I had at Halfords Perry Barr Centre. I brought my car on the Tuesday because the engine was overheating. At the end of the day, the store manager told me the issue was a leaking pump that needed replacement, and possibly the thermostat if it was also damaged. After thoroughly considering whether to proceed, I booked the job for that Friday.
My car was a 14-year-old Vauxhall Meriva with 120,000 miles and several dents. The car itself was worth less than the £560 I paid for the pump and thermostat, but I urgently needed a working car for my job and to take my son to and from school. On Friday night, I went to collect my car, and the manager confirmed the repairs were done and the car was fine. However, after driving for just 3 miles, the car started overheating again.
Upset, I returned to the store on Saturday morning to have the car checked. I left it there all day and returned in the evening. The store manager wasn't working that day, so I spoke directly with the mechanic. He said he had informed the manager that the car had multiple leaks and that replacing the pump was just the start. I told him this was not communicated to me, and if I had known there were more issues, I would never have authorized the job.
That evening, I called customer service and filed a complaint, requesting either the car be fixed for the agreed cost or a refund. They responded within 48 hours, asking me to return to the centre for another check. I brought the car in the following Thursday, and they checked it all day. By the end of the day, they said the issue was a damaged sensor. The next day, they kept my car all day again to replace the sensor, but when I collected it in the evening, the car started overheating within less than a mile.
I called customer service again and returned the car on Saturday. This time, a different store manager was there, and she kept saying she wasn't involved before, so she let me speak directly with the mechanic. The mechanic then told me that, for some reason he couldn't explain, the equipment at Halfords couldn't perform a full pressure test on Vauxhall Meriva cars, and he had encountered this issue before. I showed him again all the previous work done on the car since I bought it (I had left all the paperwork on the seat the first time I brought the car in, but he never bothered to look at it). He started blaming some work done by another garage and advised me to go back to them to sort it out.
At that point, I was furious and called customer service again, but they just repeated what the store manager said. In the end, I paid £560 for a car that wasn't worth that amount, and after six visits to the centre, the car still had the same issue. They kept the car in the garage all day each time I brought it in. Nobody called me with updates; I had to constantly call them, begging for information. Customer service was completely useless and a waste of time. The mechanic only told me at the end, after two weeks, that Halfords couldn't do a pressure test on my car (a standard Vauxhall Meriva B), but they accepted the job, told me it was the pump, and took my money. They should inform customers that they can't perform this type of work on Merivas.
In the end, I had to buy a new car. Please avoid Halfords as they are expensive and only want to rip you off.
Note 05/03/25; In addition to the above review, my experience with Halfords has not ended. I tried to contact the customer services as requested by Emily in the response here below. As an answer, the customer services team doesn't know who Emily is and confirmed that my case is closed and there is nothing they can do. Obviously, the response below was just an attempt to minimise the damage to the image of the company showing they are willing to help. The truth is that once you give them money you will never see it again, even though they don't repair yo
