A warm, welcoming cafe with a lovely homely feel. My adult ESOL students and I were made to feel so welcome here and the students loved the coffee, the atmosphere, the comfortable seats, the friendly staff and the decor. A hidden gem in the heart of Balsall Heath.

Really fun friendly venue a real collective mix of people and their kiddies...a very friendly environment, books to read there were zones for kids to do crafts. I only grabbed a coffee but there seemed to b lots of food and cakes on offer, which I will try next time I'm in.

Fantastic place in Balsall Heath! Very child friendly and the staff are absolutely fantastic! A lovely children?s area to keep them entertained. They have lovely food and drink options including vegan and dairy free milk alternative.

The MIX was revamped during lockdown. It is delightfully light, airy and artistic now. It is also full of welcoming friendly staff and volunteers and has well cooked and well presented tasty, healthy food. It is part of GAP ARTS an Arts project for 16- 25 year olds. As such there is always an exhibition of interest in the dedicated exhibition space adjoining the cafe area itself There is a great range of books to browse through if that is your thing. The coffee is of excellent quality as is the range of unususual ice creams. Always a nice place to visit.

As an exhibiting artist, exhibition & event visitor and as a civilian, I highly recommend the GAP!
I first ventured inside to inquire about portrait participants for a commission I was working on in 2017. Arron was incredibly helpful and engaging. I felt really welcome in their space and have recommended them highly ever since.
Later on in 2017, I attended an exhibition by Navi Kaur. An examplary installation and inspring way to make use of an intimate space.
Now, in 2019, I?ve retuned to exhibit my own work. Ella was incredibly supportive throughout the entirety process: from coordinating the install to enlisting the help of several volunteers to ensure the install went as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
Thank you and I?m looking forward to my next visit! ?
