I was baptized in this church shortly after I was born in the 80's. I became quite rebellious in my childhood/early teenage years and eventually didn't attend much. More because certain people close to my upbringing were what I would call "Sunday christians" and very different people outside of the church community. So I didn't have much faith as it were at the time.
A lot has changed now I imagine, but under the previous Vicar, Greg Mensing (around turn of the millennium until ten or so years ago), the church became a fantastic place with a vibrant and welcoming community. That's not to say there weren't some great members since I wasn't old enough to remember. But looking back, he turned the church around (as did the members), became something of a inspiration and father figure for the younger members, and it truly was an extended family for me personally and I hope it is still like that today.
I was blessed to have grown up with such a wonderful extended family. And a place that now has such a history with so many stories to be told. So I'd just like to say thank you to all from those times for being great members of the church community, and in some cases having such a positive impact and influence on my life no matter how small. Some members have sadly passed on, who I haven't forgotten. I am no longer in the UK for over a decade now. But I will return one day and hopefully share some stories, and will also attempt to write to people personally if I can find contact details :)

a very nice church. i was a bit late for the service, but they were happy to see me all the same! all members were very friendly warm and inviting, willing to chat and introduce themselves. there was a nice group who performed the hymns on piano, violin and guitar which sounded great. the service was good with a talk and readings and partaking of the emblems. despite not being a member of the church, they still encouraged me to go up and receive a blessing which was very nice of them. this church is made up of all sorts of people and backgrounds with all age groups but suffered from a lack of teenagers or young people in their early 20's. the church is a more conservative christian church rather than a more evangelical church of england and focuses mainly on the eucharist each week. there are refreshments afterwards too! lovely church and will attend again.
