Had a wonderful meal at The George in the Tree, excellent service, staff extremely friendly and helpful. Even had a free dessert as we were celebrating an anniversary. 100% would recommend. We will definitely be going back soon ???

Food was amazing here as usual. Lovely steaks and brilliant service.
Place was empty but was just that weird time between Xmas and new year .

Great service, however the mixed grill had a very small steak i wouldn't say it was 4oz as advertised, but the food was nice and cooked as asked for ie well done

Here for a short stay to see family over the festive period. However this visit was not so merry. Staff seemed to be in a rush to go home. Food was very average. The atmosphere was was no pretty good for obvious reasons.

Visited for a weekday lunch and there was only one waitress looking after all the tables so service was extremely slow. It took ages for drinks to arrive, food orders to be taken, and plates to be cleared.
The final straw was when we asked to see dessert menus and nobody had returned after 15 minutes. Although my 2-year old had a dessert included in the price of her meal, we paid up and left as she was growing (understandably) restless.

Bedroom was very large with two large single beds and one large double bed.
Like most hotels the lighting in the room was abysmal.
The furniture in the room was antique and dark, with the bathroom having a jacuzzi, all a bit 1960's experience.
The food in the restaurant was awful and expensive, with their specialty, a rubber Christmas pudding ?, we were the only two in the restaurant, and had two aperitifs, two starters, two main courses, two desserts and two digestives for £108, and think that we may have been better off having the bar menu.

First time to the establishment Party of 6 stood waiting for 5 mins at front of house ,we had disabled person in party so sat down after another 5 mins was then told we was in wrong area for table service , as if it was our fault . Food was really good and all came to the table together .
