The food is great and cooked to order. None of your microwave ping food here. This can mean a little wait but so worth it. Real Country Pub feeling not a big chain pub rush you in and out.

Called on speck at 13.45 on a Saturday for 3 to have lunch (not booked in advance). Curtly told kitchen was closed and unable to consider serving in any form. This surprising as there were diners still eating their meals and to close kitchen at such an early hour on Saturdays. Found alternative dining facilities nearby welcoming.
Sad as we have used this venue several times before and the food served is good. Clearly this place needs new faces and ideas to match the efforts of the chef.

Clean and warm rooms. Little bit run down bit okay for a nights stay. Pub was shut when went to check out which was a challenge but all sorted in the end.

Well green dragon in sambounre the lady who owns the place Has just complained about people parking on her land to go to a funeral in the church she new it was going to happen today it was a lady who went in her pub regular with her husband for Yrs just be respect for her day for family and friends just for 1 hour

Sunday drive. Came across this pub just as we were ready for Sunday lunch. What an absolute gold mine! Lovely service, great food, good beer. Thankyou so much.
Noteworthy details: The food is incredible. Staff so polite and helpful.

We stopped here for a night. Although there was a slug in the bathroom and the shower had no power, all was clean, quiet and friendly and helpful staff. We would definitely come back again.

16th Century, amazing old wooden interior. Furniture is a bit tired, and could probably do with a sensitive restoration before too long, could easily be trashed by over zealous gastro types intent on makeovers. Def has an atmosphere worth preserving..The beer and food is GOOD. One of those places that hasn?t gone for the big production number with printed menus and themed everything, but has got the important stuff right.Accommodation is in old stable units at back of the pub, see photos, clean bed, tele works, kettle tea and coffee carpet but grubby in mine, bit used, but no issues. Sound insulation not brilliant, but not too bad either, had a good nights sleep.Good value and would recommend if looking for honest no frills stopover.
