The new menu is great we came in for lunch and had the tandoori skewer which was so tasty. Our server Tonii was very attentive throughout our experience it was a great lunch out!

We stopped for a meal on Sunday afternoon and the place was busy but they found us a table for 5 without issue and service was prompt and friendly, Tonii looked after us well with no request being too much.
The atmosphere was good in there and the food was great, portion sizes although smaller than before were adequate.
Overall price worked out to be around £20 per head for mains and soft drinks for 4 adults and one child?s order.
We will return again ??

Went for dinner with my partner yesterday at the dog, we tried the new menu which definitely didn?t disappoint. Food was delicious and we had a lovely server Kaci. She went above and beyond to make our experience very enjoyable and feel very taken care of even though it was very busy.

This has to have been the worst restaurant/pub visit in living memory. Right from the start, to the moment we left, this was an awful experience. I'll leave the cherry on top until the end.
After reserving a table online, we got to the Dog about 5 minutes before the reservation time. There was a family in front of us and it appeared there was some confusion with their table. After patiently waiting, they were eventually seated by the gentleman who was on front-of-house. On his return, the phone rang and he proceeded to answer the phone. Bear in mind, we have already gotten out of our house and to the restaurant, we are effectively paying customers. But no, someone on the phone, who is probably sat in their house, not a paying customer takes priority.
Once the phone call has ended, we were asked if we had booked a table. I said yes, gave my surname. I was asked if I was using any promotions, I replied "Yes, Blue Light card." The gentleman rolled his eyes as he pressed a button on his screen, then grabbed the menus.
We were sat down, instantly asked if we wanted any drinks, which is nice, but we've not even looked at the drinks menu. We politely declined and asked if we could have a moment.
We ordered drinks when ordering our food. Needless to say, things don't get any better from here. After enquiring whether we could have cheese on the children?s beef burger, we were advised that yes ?it?s possible, it?s 50p?. We continued with our order. I chose the BBQ beef burger and my wife went with the half roast chicken. No pulled pork so I couldn?t have the BBQ Beef Burger. I went for a dirty one instead. Our waitress returned with the salad bowls that were so hot, the kids had to wait for them to cool down before carrying them.
Once my wife and I had finished our salad, the drinks finally turned up.
Then, the food. All was well, except someone in the kitchen doesn?t know that half a chicken, is 50% of a chicken. No thigh. What turned up was the chicken breast and a dried out drumstick, not attached. We called the waitress to ask where the thigh was, to which she went and got another ?half?. What turned up looked a lot better, but still no thigh. We asked to speak to the duty manager who turned up to explain that due to the ?ribs?, ?the thigh doesn?t come with half a chicken.? Having been to the Dog half a dozen times previously, all my wife ever orders is the half a chicken. Oh dear. Ribs, indeed. After some toing and froing, the duty manager finally confirmed that the ?apprentice? in the kitchen would have thrown the thigh away. At this point, we wanted to leave. The two boys, however, happily tucking into their food! After food was finished, a waitress came to start clearing the table and finished with half a job. We then reminded the original waitress that we would like the desserts for the boys. Well, The Sundae Bests (ice cream cones) turned up in hot bowls. The ice cream had practically melted by the time it was served. Ice cream eaten, and another long wait for a waitress to bring our bill. That 50p cheese? £1.
That cherry? Bill was paid and as we got to the exit, there was a lady, sat at a table by the entrance, drinking a tea or coffee. As I walked out, I said to my wife ?Do you want to know what makes it worse? That?s the Landlady. Sat doing F-all whilst her pub and her staff is chaotic!? Couldn?t be certain, but as it was a Lenovo thinkpad, issued to all good M&B pubs, and their managers tend to think that having more responsibilities means doing less work, it was a good chance she was the landlady. No one else would be sat working on their laptop in a pub at 8pm, drinking tea/coffee unless it was their pub they were working in.
2 hours we were there. Only because of how chaotic this place was.
The waitresses were golden. As soon as you get to management, it took the wrong turn.Used to like going to the Dog, not our nearest Harvester, but worth the journey. Not anymore.

Great atmosphere, wonderful service and the staff are very accommodating and helpful.
Good selection of food, particularly nice chicken dishes and steaks.
Salad bar is always well stocked with some good classics such as potato salad, pasta, coleslaw, etc...
Large selection of sauces and fresh bread too.

Was served by Kaci. Such a lovely person. Mentioned it was my sister's 16th and they came out with candles on her dessert. Kaci was amazing!
