I visited here a few days ago whilst visiting stratford upon avon. Would I return ? Absolutely not. Let me tell you why...Firstly, the entry fee is a rip off. The entire tour took us 30 minutes and we left - it is tiny. The space there isn't wide enough to even be considered as a 'museum'.There was a school visiting there when we arrived and there was around 20 kids. Now imagine 20 kids running around with books and pens making such loud noises whilst your trying to look around. I attended with my two year old and 3 month old and it was very hectic. For the size of this place - they shouldn't allow a school trip there and guests at the same time. They should have hired it out exclusively to them to avoid it being overcrowded. It was overwhelming and we didn't have a chance to look at Absolutely everything (even though there wasn't much).Honestly.. it was overall disappointing. I'm not sure why there are so many good reviews about the place because we don't feel happy with it.We won't return.

Amazing experience. It is fabulous for children and adults. Great designs and interactive machines to enjoy and admire the kinetic artefacts.

What a gem of a place. We went in on the off chance as we didn?t realise there was very little to do in Stratford. However this cool place made up for it. Mechanical toys galore. If you?re a big kid like me?you?ll love it.

Nice, a good, entertaining hour for the little ones. I would say a bit overpriced but entertaining for the kids. Besides the sensor activated ones, the kids have a few hands-on displays. They can build a few marble runs.

This was my second visit to MAD and really enjoyed it again. It's so fascinating to see all the models and mechanics working. We especially liked the marble runs.We went at 10am and by 10:45 it was getting too crowded for us. Some of the marble runs weren't working which was a shame. The shop has got some great gifts!

We had a lovely fun visit with a 7 year old child at The MAD Museum. The layout is a random walk through - at your own pace and in whatever direction takes your fancy - not a guided tour. Most of the exhibits are for observation with the only interactive moment in the build your own marble run room. A big hit with the little one, who asked to go back the next day!

It?s a small but amazingly playful museum. It?s dedicated to display mechanical wooden or metal crafts. Most of them is interactive, you can push the button and watch how it functions. Some of them are just funny contemporary art. You can tell from the details, that the artists had incredible creativity and put effort of time in it. They also have a room for you build your own tracks and put a ball there to let it run. Although most of the wood trucks are wore, so there will always be gaps in between two tracks no matter what you do, the whole thing just doesn?t work very well. It?s worthy to take your kids here. They can spend a whole day here and probably without feeling bored at all. The gift shop sells some of the simpler stuff they display but I didn?t get any. Overall it?s a surprisingly good and petit museum hidden in this little town.

Great place to visit for an hour or two. Lots of mechanical art with sensor activations. There is also a small but enjoyable hands on section at the back. The kids (aged 9 and 5) really enjoyed this.Price is reasonable and under 6s goes free.Highly recommend to others

If you like mobile installations, automatons, and marble runs, it's worth visiting. When you visit Stratford-on-Avon, maybe a different subject than Shakespeare could be interesting. You can learn even the solution of chicken or egg problem, the truth, or a very special tapestry. Nice, easy, and funny cultural references for adults, buttons for kids.

Great but not enough to warrant the price tag. Very expensive. Should be half the current entrance fee. They need to have more on display or lower the cost. At least 3 displays were broken, so not working correctly.

Delightful museum of all things mechanical, automata, super complex 'marble runs' and a wonderful version of the Bayeux Tapestry. Beautifully presented with plenty of information.

To say I came there for copper and I found gold would be an understatement. Definitely the most enjoyable attraction in the area of Birmingham that I've stumbled upon, talking as an adult. Simply heart-warming.

A gem of a museum. Lots of mechanical models and marble runs to watch. A bit of a play zone for children (to make their own marble runs). It's quite a small museum and pre booking in school holidays was essential. You can use Tesco vouchers once exchanged (as at November 2023) which meant it was even more value for money (although it's not expensive as it is). A few hours well spent watching some beautiful and intricate machines. A little gift shop but no cafe (lots in the near vicinity though). Fully recommend.
