Food great wasn’t happy re service charge it should be up to me end n tbh what did they even do ? Took my order gave he food n then disappeared

I like the place but last time I was there I had a starter that had no spice rating and when it came is was covered in chillis and soaking in chilli oil making it far hotter than the 1-chilli rating other starter we had (corroborated by my partner who loves spicy food). When I said to our server that I found I couldn't eat it due to the heat they kept telling me it wasn't a spicy dish, despite it clearly being covered in chillis, and treated the whole thing like I should just be better at spice.
Obviously people have different spice tolerances and when ordering something with no spice rating it shouldn't be hotter than another dish that does have a spice rating.
It's put me off returning because I can't trust the menu, and it was such an awkward situation for me to be put in having to basically defend the fact that I can't eat very spicy foods. I was refunded the dish but even that was awkward as he didn't say anything he actually acted like I was going to get a replacement then went away and seemed to hide from us the rest of the time we were there.
Very disappointing.

A group of 9 of us booked for 4:30pm in advance for an early evening meal before catching a show on 3rd January. Despite being clear that 4 of the party were vegetarian on booking they claimed to not have been aware. They had already ran out of many items and could not even provide a veg starter. Waitress did not know that curries are vegetarian and said they contained fish sauce, even cancelled our sticky rice as they ran out after we ordered. I was shocked at the level of poor service, the manager intervened after requesting a chat and the food arrived and was OK. Starters were 5/10 , mains were nice 7/10. They took the service charge off the bill, however I do feel it is still a poor show and will not return. I wonder what was available for all the poor dinners coming for dinner, it was full when we was leaving.....

The food is fantastic with a lovely atmosphere and welcoming staff. We had a little one with us and they were given colouring and pens with tasty childrens options. I love the tapas dishes for lunch to try lots of the menu. Will definetly be going back.

Not much atmosphere compared to other Giggling Squids. Very cold in the restaurant. Had to send food back as overcooked. Shame as came for my husbands birthday as a treat.

We arrived with no reservation on a Saturday (late) afternoon, we were warmly greeted by Carlo, who worried about seating us where we?d be most comfortable, he wanted us to have the best experience possible and was attentive and available throughout our dining experience. Nat also looked after us and made sure we were happy with our meal choices and enjoyed our time in their beautiful restaurant. The food, staff and atmosphere were all five star, and my only complaint is that we?re not local and won?t be able to eat there again this weekend!

We spent the day in Stratford and needed somewhere with great food and quick service before heading to the second part a two?part show.
Giggling Squid delivered perfectly.
We ordered sea bass gra pao, pad kee mao, and my personal favourite, the classic papaya salad. Everything was fresh, vibrant, and full of flavour. To drink, I tried the chilli mocktail, more ginger than chilli, and absolutely refreshing, while my friend enjoyed the jungle colada.
The food was outstanding, just as I?ve come to expect from Giggling Squid, and the service from Carlo was exceptional. He even handled, with good humour, the tussle between my friend and me over who would pay the bill (sorry, Carlo!).
If you?re in Stratford and love Thai food, Giggling Squid is a fantastic choice. The ambience is cosy, the staff are welcoming, and the whole experience made our evening even better. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

Fantastic place. Visited on a sat night and had a lovely meal and drinks. Fab service and very authentic Thai Food. Well worth a visit. Will return for sure when in the area.
