Only came to eat, didn't stay over as local. Service was lovely, friendly and attentive. A small menu to choose from and a little bit pricy, but everything you could tell was homemade and fresh. I had the Chicken milanese, which was well seasoned and moist. My friends had different meals, steaks, burger and the pie. All which was enjoyed. Had sticky toffee pudding which was lush.

Nice old style pub/Inn and you can't beat a real fire.Worth a trip just for the steak pie alone, but you will need to reserve one as they get snapped up pretty quickly.

Had lovely meal, very tasty, tested home made/ cooked. Staff great. Felt like... been out for a proper meal. Enjoyed.

The service on Sunday was amazing, the young lady that served me was so polite, the pate was impeccable and the presentation was amazing. I will be returning, Thank you for being so welcoming to me.

A very welcoming old pub with a great menu. The homemade Steak Pie was superb. More meat than a Sunday dinner and proper gravy. So good, I had it again the following evening. This is a tough one, because the hotel is nice and the people were lovely. The bed was too hard, so I didn't sleep terribly well. Nice breakfast, overall good.

Excellent value hotel with friendly staff and a lovely pub/ restaurant. We were able to bring our dog with us (room booked ahead) and dining in the snug.Food & drinks: Great bar and restaurant

A countryside hotel. Fantastic cooked breakfast brought to your table. Great hosting. The hotel is behind and connected to the pub. They serve evening meals too. Clean and cosy. My shower had several options: rainfall, waterfall and others. Lots of parking available. Some outside seating too.

We stayed overnight at the Golden Lion before attending a family birthday party in Rugby. The hotel is in a pretty, rural village, with footpaths across fields if you want to go for a walk. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, with an excellent bathroom. Reception was friendly and helpful. There was a pleasant seating area outside under a canopy (nice on a hot afternoon), and ample parking. The dinner menu was fairly limited and we had a bit of a wait, but it was Saturday night; breakfast was buffet style, which suited us. We would certainly stay again if in the area.

We trekked across the fields from Bridge number 37 on the Oxford Canal. When we arrived we were met by the most friendly staff and were treated to some amazing double cheese burgers and an equally smashing steak pie. Fab fries, good beer and wide soft drink choice made for a perfectly enjoyable meal. Thoroughly recommended.
