I have had a terrible experience. The manager ?Micky? was very rude and has no interest in looking after customers.

We have been to this venue previously for a beautful mealToday we popped in for a quick pint and glass of wine, after a lovely walk to this beautiful area. The only two inside drinking tables were full with children, not drinking. So the only available places to sit was outside. The weather was chilli and we were directed to sit outside under the canopy, which is very pretty. There was a few heaters outside working and the others available were either switched off or broken. Unfortunately this made our stay cold and uncomfortably.Really disappointed, as we love this area, and our previous visits have been so charming. Feeling very underwhelmed!

Our favourite restaurant has now closed so we thought to try the Black Horse as an alternativeThe atmosphere was poor, and the service averageMenu is very limited, and to my opinion, overpriced!Although the desert was excellent ?We will continue looking to replace our old restaurant !

Was disappointed with the limited menu, and 2 scallops the size of a 1p coin was just a joke. To top it off a rowdy bar area metres away from where we were trying to eat. The main course was nice though i had blade of beef.

Our second visit to this great pub/restaurant!If you're coming here for the first time, there's a couple of important things you need to know:1. On arrival, make sure your enter your car registeration number into the computer pad on the wall at the end of the bar, otherwise you may end up with a parking charge.2. Watch out for the low beams! Remember, it's an old building so be aware of the low doorways and the uneven floors.Food here is just simply exemplary and beautifully presented, I really enjoyed the "BH Waldorf" which is a creative twist on a Waldorf salad (I think!)Staff are friendly and attentive without being intrusive. There is a car park but I wonder if the the spaces are of minimal width as I think if you have a larger car you may find it difficult to get out of it, especially if someone parks too close to the white line. This is a very popular venue with a warm, friendly atmosphere so I definitely would recommend you book in advance to secure your table!I think I would like to see a few more cocktails on the drinks menu, but that aside, looking forward to a return visit in the not-too-distant future!Parking: Parking to the rear of the building via the driveway on Main Street.

Excellent Sunday lunch with equally excellent service, not the cheapest but the food quality speaks for itself. Our first visit last week and won't be our last ?

We arrived and it was very dark and raining. Nobody made me aware on arrival that I needed to log my car registration. I got a fine in the mail. When I contacted the Black Horse, they said their is nothing they can do. Despite it being their car park. I appealed the fine with the parking fine company, and provided proof of the receipt for me eating at the Black Horse, and they offered to reduce it to £20. Out of principle I refused to pay it.. I will see them in court!!! so much hassle!!! why treat your customers in such a bad way!! I WILL NEVER BE BACK, AND WILL NEVER BRING BUSINESS MEAL GUESTS BACK!

FantasticNormally I book well in advance but on the 28/12 we decided to take our aged parents for a meal with some family members (a spur of the moment event). After contacting the BH I spoke to a lovely lady named Karen. x11 is a fair number to book in, but Karen after confirming details, called me back within 10mins, sent an email and took a vegan order (for 1 of the family). Arriving at the BH we parked in their car park and had to enter our reg number on a tablet in the restaurant. This is a newish feature but no different to other large venues we?ve been to. They have plenty of signs up & staff explained it was necessary to avoid a fine and made the process very easy. The food was amazing, staff really looked after us (one parent has dementia) & they turned music down to accommodate us asking. Karen was incredibly helpful and we?d definitely recommend this place. Professional staff, great food, relaxed atmosphere and hassle free parking, despite what others may have said in the past. Many thanks.Vegetarian options: If you require vegan option, call and ask staff who really accommodate.Parking: You have to enter your vehicle reg number in the restaurant otherwise you may pick up a fine. It?s very easy.

On arrival, we had to push our way through the queue for the bar that seemed to be serving the outside area guests - we had a table booked. We were taken to our table which was situated by the bar in the restaurant. Two of the seats were in the narrow walkway by the bar. We pulled the table as far in as possible. There was a large party to the right of us and they were constantly walking backwards and forwards to go outside and back to their tables with no consideration to us or any other guests. The service and food were mediocre. The bar staff were throwing bottles in the bin adding to the din. It?s not somewhere we will probably return. My advice to anyone booking a table is to ask for a quiet table away from the bar area and your experience may be better than ours.
