Visited July 20th 2025, family of 5 for a Sunday roast. £28 for a Lamb roast, over £3 for 1 scoop of Vanilla ice cream and wafer! Really! Cauliflower cheese and choc brownie not great. £197.

We booked rather late for a family gathering of 10 on Father's Day (though no actual Father and child pair was there!), although only 9 turned up. The staff were brilliant, very pleasant and helpful. Food was very good (we had the vegetarian wellington roast dinner, my brother-in-law said his sea bass was excellent, and a good sized portion!)
All round highly recommended!

Cosy, home-like pub with great food, staff and drinks. Always a guaranteed friendly atmosphere. Their new breakfast menu is top tier!

We have been here a few times and it?s awaits been very good service and food. It gets really busy some Friday nights but they seem to manage this well and we still received food and drinks in good time. I?d recommend this restaurant!

A great spot for a Sunday roast, the beef was Delishious. If you can secure a spot on the balcony in the late afternoon sun it?s lovely.

Our party of 3 booked a table on 23/03/25 for a Sunday lunch booking the table on line I advised one of the group had a nut allergy 2 of us ordered lamb shanks and 1 roast pork with a side of cauliflower cheese the waitress took the order and asked if any one had any allergies I advised her that my friend had a nut allergy and that I had also recorded it on the online booking
When the meals arrived we were all delighted to see our plates we shared the cauliflower cheese and was about to eat when a very nervous waitress came and asked if any one had a nut allergy as there were nuts on the cauliflower cheese
All 3 meals were taken away and apologise given unfortunately there were no replacement lamb shanks left which was very disappointing I had beef and my friend had Cornish shepherds pie with a massive pile of greens and my friend was able to have the pork she originally ordered we also had a portion of cauliflower cheese,
Unfortunately the replacement meals were not good and I ended up taking them home for my dog we didn?t have to pay for our mains due to the allergy mix up it was a nice jester but unfortunately we did not enjoy are experience and it could of been very detrimental to my friends health
We did enjoy Harvey he was a ray of sunshine very friendly and professional he made us all smile

Came on a Sunday and cannot fault the service which was snappy and food came super fast which is impressive given the number of customers.
The food was a bit lacklustre though - some parts were lukewarm and the kids sausages were well overcooked like they had been in the warmer for hours.
Everything was over seasoned and salty to the point that some of the sauces needed to be scraped off the food.
However the roast meats and veg were good and above average for gastropub fare. Mixed bag.

Lovely and welcoming staff.
Good choice of foods including vegetarian. Food wasn?t so great but customer service was excellent.
Atmosphere was good but bit crowded.
Family enjoyed the Sunday dinner but not so great.
Lovely interior and there was some discounts for some.

I NEVER go out to eat Sunday because I?m good at making my own thank you and no pub can match a home cooked roast and all the trimmings!
Well. I?m here to report that the amazing Star and Garter has proved me wrong. Service was excellent, the floor staff happy and laughing, clearly great team dynamics fostered my a good manager.
Service was prompt, the specials advised and orders placed.
Food arrived promptly. Duck starter was excellent.
But it?s the roast dinners that take centre stage.
A very generous portion size of the meat of your choice. The roasties were perfect. I?d like to mention is dispatches the vegetables though Lovely buttered cabbage and leeks perfectly cooked with just the right amount of bite, roasted root vegetables and the cauliflower cheese was to die for.
The icing on the cake was that exactly at the point I?d popped the last piece of potato and Yorkshire pudding into my mouth, slightly disappointed that I still had plenty of meat in my plate, that a waitress appeared at my side asking if I?d like more potatoes and another Yorkshire pud, the size and lightness I?ve not seen before.
I thought I?d died and gone to heaven.
A truly wonderful experience so thank you to all the team at the Star and Garter in Leamington

My husband engaged his unfortunately mine wasn't very warm. They took it away and replaced it and warmed the sauce. Still not really hot.

First time visiting and won't be the last! We went for a midweek lunch and had such a warm welcome.
The food was delicious -.steak and ale pie, burger and chicken schnitzel highly recommended.
We will be back!

I booked the Star n Garter in leamington 2 weeks in advance online . Arrived at the said time . No table ready , waited 10 mins to be seated. They then proceeded to eject some people from a table and then dragged 3 tables and pushed them together to squeeze our group of 10 people in next to the main entrance/ exit. The tables were sticky. Ordered drinks and the waitress brought the wrong drinks plus 5 more drinks we didn't order to our table . I have no complaints on the starters. When we asked for mains , it took over an hour for the Christmas mains to arrive, which were Luke warm and far to small for a Christmas meal. Service was shoddy to say the least , cutlery was just dumped at the end of the table. To add insult to injury , they presented us with the wrong bill , trying to charge us for 22 people when infact there was only 10 people in our party. It then took 3 attempts to get the correct bill.
This is an accurate account of the night.
