Poor review due to walking to pub and no food was being served? though website states till 14:00. Food could be great, so could beer.. will never know now. Have a 3 star as felt mean giving one as had nothing to review.

If you're ever looking for a local that serves a great English breakfast, you've come to the right place. Charming village pub with friendly personable service and a relaxed atmosphere. Only ever stopped for the breakfast but it was well worth it, great value too.

Popped in for a quick drink before driving back down the M40 and absolutely loved the place. Great atmosphere, nice aesthetics, and all with welcoming and friendly staff.

The food was good, the lunch deal nicely presented, but the choice a bit disappointing if you're not keen on chips!

We were staying in the village and stopped by this pub for brunch. We received a warm welcome from Caroline behind the bar who quickly showed us the menus and made recommendations for vegetarians. We enjoyed our food which was freshly prepared and the coffee available was great. As others have said, the pub was cosy and comfortable. We felt that Caroline's fantastic service (not just to us, but seeing her with other guests as well) really elevates the Crown to an exceptional and welcoming village pub. Thank youVegetarian options: Great breakfast options. Unfortunately no vegan option for dinner

The Crown Inn has recently relaunched as a Cafe, as well as a pub. The decor is lovely, they have managed to keep it as a ?good old pub? whilst creating a relaxing cafe space at the same time. We ate outside, which was no problem (we were seated inside and changed our minds) and sat outside next to a children?s play area. Today I sampled the cooked breakfast, as did my son and my husband had the Crown full English (big!) whilst they did some chips for my toddlers. The breakfast was honestly the best full English I?ve had in a long time. It was nice to have one that wasn?t cheap meat etc. The bacon was nice and thick, the sausages were lovely (I will be asking where they get them from!) and the eggs were so tasty and fresh. Bread that came with it was yummy too. What I liked the most was that it wasn?t really greasy like a lot of fry ups can be. Now, besides the food being delicious, the service was great too. We felt very welcome (with twin toddlers we don?t always feel like we can relax and enjoy) and on that basis alone we would return. The pub is spotless (including toilets) and is clearly well looked after. The decor has lots of personal touches, which is perhaps how they managed to balance the pub and cafe look! My only issue is I want to try 5 different things on the menu! Great jobs guys, thank you!

I've visited the Crown Inn many times before but this was my first visit since it has changed into the Crown Inn Café and Public House. There was a mouth-watering selection of cakes and pastries to choose from and a great choice of cooked breakfasts (including a vegetarian one) and hot and cold food . The new menu seems to have something for even the fussiest of eaters. I only had a coffee and a cake on this visit but the aroma of another customer's cook breakfast made me wish I'd had more time to sample that too. I had the banana and toffee loaf cake and it was beautiful moist, the flavours really complimented each other. It was a lovely smooth cup of coffee too, a great size, and nice well balanced bean. I could easily have stayed for another cup and slice of cake if I'd have had more time or if I had thought to take my laptop with me. It's also worth mentioning the staff at The Crown Inn. They always make you feel so welcome and nothing is too much trouble. Will definitely visit again to try out the new menu. I highly recommend a visit.

Oh dear..... we had high hopes for this place but were very disappointed. Overheard the owner going on and on about a customer that had upset them without any thought to the customers currently in the restaurant. Food very average and cooking oil needed changing and tainted the food. other pubs in village much much better

I've given this experience four instead of five stars because the waitress forgot to give us dessert cutlery. For the rest, my wife and I were pleased with the Crown's atmosphere, Chris' hospitality and our dinner's quality - in particular the delicious tartare sauce!
