I have been trying to open an everyday BASIC DEBIT account for 8 months. I keep getting rejected because they claim that Experian cannot provide them with information about me. Well I just bought a house and got a credit from a different bank using a credit report from Experian........ I have been to several branches, they all say they are not trained to deal with this (opening a basic account? surely this would be the most basic procedure, as most banks even do it online now?!), I have been given phone numbers that no one answers, i have been sent to emails that no one replies to. It has been insane and today, after trying again, I have officially given up.

Been with Santander for 11 years. My mortgage, current account,saving account and all my bills managed by them. I could not get an appointment to open an account for my child and been advised to travel 20 miles to be able to sort it out. Truly disappointed. Time to switch and move on l guess!

Very poor customer experience. An old account was made dormant in 2014. They wrote again in May stating that they had written (they hadn't) and we're going to transfer the monies to use for good causes unless we closed the account. They stated previous mail had been returned.On visiting the branch I followed all instructions and had all documentation but was told my wife had to attend as it was a joint account even though they did not require this in the information sent. I therefore had to go in again with my wife.It seems that their system has not retained our new address, the one they were writing to even in 2014 and before! They also required middle names that were not on our accounts.I asked for cash, which bamboozled them. I thought it was a bank but they were from another branch and couldn't access coins, but could access notes! Even the manager behind them couldn't, if you can believe it!So a bank that cannot keep records accurately, tells lies about addresses not being changed and letters returned, will not give you cash and staff with bad attitudes. Couple that with two journeys, two parking charges and an hour or so wasted time.Don't bank with them. Check the customer ratings and use someone else.

Despite making numerous visits to the Leamington branch to request copies of old statements the manager assured me that a urgent request to head office had been made. 4 weeks later and finally being able to contact head office it was confirmed that no request was ever made from the branch for the documents. Do not trust the staff at this branch they don't do what they say.

Absolutely useless opening times for anyone who has a job. They probably reduced opening times because there were no customers, but there are no customers because of the awful opening times. I had to go for 1 star because I can never actually get into the place.

Visited the Leamington Spa branch today and was met with a very rude and unhelpful cashier. Rather then helping me with depositing money without account details I received frustration and annoyance from the start. I was shocked with how impatient and I?ll-mannered she was.

hi iv just been in to leamimgton spa bank and had forgot me card and id which has never Bothered them before I?ve always open my app give him the bank details and I?ve deposited the money then the manager starts going on one about it?s only essential banking but it is essential because I need to put money in my bank to pay stuff and I was made to leave without depositing the money . i left and walked towards Barclays bank because I have a acc with them but was busy so went back to my car managed to find my driving license but in the meantime lost the money that I was depositing I?ve gone back in the bank with my ID and more money which i can?t afford to use the manager kept going on obviously I had a go back As they?ve done this many times before for me so in the time of need they didn?t do this made me leave the branch lose my money then when I was arguing with her I said to her about the money I hope this happens to one of your Family members being messed about losing money then she tried to change it around saying that I said that I hope that one of her family catches this virus which I?m hundred percent never said she said well it?s all on all on tape I said come on then let?s go listen to it then.it?s disgusting in a time of need they?ll dont it but any other time they will do it .the cashier says think about how we have to protect your account How many people do you know try to robbing peoples accounts by deposit money in to it it?s disgusting then had to walk around people when I shouldn?t have to do and then tried to make out a liar and a bad person about what I said if this is your managers I feel sorry for your company

Awful bank, Awful experience. Avoid and switch banks.
Bad customer service. They waste your time and do not care if your in a hurry. If you wanna spend 20 minuites waiting to get money out then go ahead. I did the right thing and switched banks. To many issues and they don't careless.
