Had a lovely afternoon tea here today with a friend and we absolutely loved it. The food was excellent?some of the most flavourful sandwiches I?ve had at an afternoon tea, and the scones were truly supreme: soft, warm, and delicious. The setting is adorable, with mismatched vintage crockery and the prettiest teapots?it really adds charm to the experience.
The food took a little while to arrive, but we were happily chatting away so it didn?t bother us. One small thing to note: I started with an Americano and later ordered some tea, assuming both were part of the afternoon tea deal (as is common elsewhere), but the tea was an extra charge. It would be helpful if that was made clearer, or better yet, if both drinks were included in the experience.
That said, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and I?d definitely recommend it!

Lovely ? food lovely family run tea rooms with beautiful cake and lovely coffee?. The only one small thing I?d say is they need to heat the place up abit everyone is sat in their coats, but other than that 5 stars ?

I started with a berry smoothie - rich, fruity and fresh. We shared a pot of leaf tea - in a proper china teapot! My slice of coffee and walnut cake was delicious. My friend had a baked potato full of prawns with salad garnish and coleslaw. The service was friendly and I would recommend Rosies for lunch or afternoon tea.

Went there to try their cakes, being all excited! I was shocked to see their portion size. The stingy man cut me a small piece of cake, and charged me 4.5 pounds for their lemon blueberry cake. As I swallowed this small piece of cake costing 4.5 pounds, it disappeared in my throat and never reached my stomach. So I had to go an buy some other dessert!
The shop was about to close too.. you should have given me adult sized portion so that it wouldn?t be stale overnight!
I wish i could add a picture, but the tiny portion of cake finished in few seconds.

Buzzing traditional little cafe, outside seating too. Lovely bone china cups, saucers and tea pots. We opted for soup of the day (tomato & basil, home made) served with warm crusty rolls and butter, delicious. Great coffee too. They serve all sorts of salads and other hot food as well as sandwiches, baguettes etc and cake to die for! Recommended.

Had an afternoon tea today 7th August 2024 booked for my mother in law for her birthday ..WOW absolutely fantastic, staff were so lovely & nice, it was just beautiful I couldn?t of asked for anything else? highly recommend?

We've been there an afternoon while visiting the city and I enjoyed every minute of it.
The food was absolutely delicious and the place very beautiful. I'll probably come back again.

Took my mum here for Afternoon Tea yesterday and it was lovely a real hidden gem. We are both vegetarian so it was lovely to have a choice of over 5 different sandwich fillings. The food was delicious as was the tea (we both had over 4 cups each!) and the service was great. Our waitress Alice was lovely and I found out it's an independent business which is great. I'll definitely be back again soon.
Vegetarian options: Lots of sandwiches to choose from with the afternoon tea we had Mozzarella and Pesto, Cheddar and Red onion marmalade and Egg and Cress. There were several other choices as well

As someone else has said, the delicious food is the single redeeming quality of this venue, and service is poor. Inside had a cramped table layout with no seats available so we took an outside table here at 1.15pm (afternoon tea for 2 people - 1 adult and 1 child) and not until 2.15pm did we receive our order, after a lengthy delay in taking our order, and a lengthy delay in processing it. Communication from waiting staff (even an apology for the delay) was non-existent. With a child constantly complaining of being hungry, towards the end I was on the verge of going into the staff at the counter to tell them we were leaving. The adjacent table were also fed up waiting and went to the counter to ask if they could order there instead of waiting longer, but this request was declined and they were sent back to their table! Drinks including tea were served promptly (after our order was eventually taken), but by the time we eventually received our food, the tea was tepid and stewed. I asked the waitress to replace it but she brought yet another pot of lukewarm stewed tea, which I didn?t bother complaining about again (I believe that the waitress just returned the previous teapot and its contents to me). We also asked the waitress for the parasol to be erected above us to provide a little shade, a request ignored by her and so the adjacent table ended up doing it themselves. Not once did a member of staff call at our table or the adjacent table following the delivery of our orders to ask if everything was to our satisfaction. This was not our first visit here and while the afternoon tea that we ordered was second to none as usual, the poor service that we received means that we will be reluctant to return, or to recommend to anyone.

We are sad to say we experienced racial discrimination in this establishment by one of the servers. White cliental were preferred over ethnic miniorities, and given a table. Please don?t support this racist business!
