I have been going to Spec Savers, Kenilworth for over 10 years and have come accustomed to long waits and staff just plodding along without much enthusiasm. Today was different, friendly, presentable staff, no waiting ..... a lovely positive vibe from the whole team.

Zahir at the Kenilworth branch was absolutely excellent in every way.

After an eye test (the optician and the assistant were both excellent) and choosing two sets of new frames, I was made an appointment for the collection a week later. I then received various reminders including several closer to the appointment time. After paying to park, I arrived at the branch in good time for the appointment. Chaos on the counter on entering the shop, including a large group of staff all looking flustered and desk phones ringing out very loudly and continuously without being answered whilst I was sat waiting to be seen at one of the fitting desks (with one of those phones right alongside me!). The lady who served me was very polite but to be then informed by her that neither set of new glasses was ready was particularly poor (especially after all of those reminders from Specsavers!). I was advised the lenses were in the lab for one set and they would make them up but I would have to come back another day for the second pair. I went off for a coffee as it would be twenty minutes for the first set to be made up. I was told the second set would be a few days and I would be called. A week later and no sign of them. Not even sure if the set I collected have the additional lens treatments paid for. If Specsavers put as much effort into the overall customer experience as they do when trying to upsell when you choose your frames, then this would certainly make a positive difference.

UPDATE
Specsavers Kennilworth have contacted me.Sophie has listened to my issue,arranged a re -test ( free) and new lenses have been ordered urgently.
There was a slight change to prescription and new lenses will be the tailor made option not the super drive ones.
Hopefully this will solve the problem.
For now I think 4 stars is fair due to improved customer service
I will re review once glasses with new lenses are received .
Having had a very bad experience with two different Specsavers stores back in 2019 i used Boots since. Decided to give Specsavers a go as working away and this franchise probably has different owners/staff.
Service not great to be honest .
Polite but rushed service in both test and sales area. Not listened too . Take your money .Didn't bother to let me know glasses were ready. Not happy with return visit . Variffocals I CANNOT SEE OUT THE READING PART AND HAVE TO USE OLD GLASSES FOR PHONE .

Nice staff, however, the lack of a customer toilet is a poor decision. Especially when your business is party focused towards working with young children, some of whom may have disabilities.
