A really fantastic pub. Good selection of cask ales, lovely pub garden, very friendly service, and an excellent menu. The chef cheerfully made some vegan substitutions, and everything was delicious. Best of all is Ralph the pub dog, who is extremely welcoming and affectionate! 5 stars for sure.

Lovely quaint English pub. The food was good and the staff were super friendly and helpful. We were with a very large group so they had a lot to deal with and we all enjoyed ourselves. Thank you

This is a beautiful old English village pub. Gareth and the staff were all really helpful and friendly. We booked in advance for a big group of us. Great choice of food and helpful with allergy advice.

On a beautiful sunny day like the one I visited on, the Bird In Hand is difficult to beat.
We were a bit early for Sunday dinner, but the staff let us in to take our seats and brought us over a couple of drinks.
The decor was really old school (but not fake) with the beams, brasses, local sports trophies and the beer pump logos of all the previous ales that they have had in the past.
The roast dinners were lovely, buttered chantenay carrots and cauliflower cheese in separate serving bowls.
I heard they have live music at times, looking forward to my next visit.

We have been here several times and have had lovely meals and a nice pint. Today however, was not one of those times.
The beer was great, but the whole dining experience was a bit of a let down.
We waited over half an hour to get our Sunday lunch, in which time we were asked to move table so some irritating family with three screeching brats could be crammed in.
The food arrived without cutlery, which we had to wait another few minutes for. Then the Yorkshire puddings arrived!.
The roasties and veg were all cooked nicely, but not very warm tbh. The beef, however was a tale of two halves.
One slice was delicious, the other was stringy and full of fat. The knife I was given was blunt, and the table was so rickety that every time I tried to cut through it our drinks sloshed about and spilt.
A member of staff asked us how our meal was. I told him all about why I was not happy with it, but nothing was done about it.
Won?t be going there again.
