The gardens are very small, but attractive with shaded seating. The Interpretation Centre was closed at the time of our visit and so, not being Welsh speakers, we were unable to glean any information about Hywel Dda's laws from the boards in the garden. This was very disappointing.

A lot smaller than expected and there were no English signs. I can speak Welsh but the signage that was there was hard to decipher

Interesting gardens made more so by the very knowledgeable guide who explained the Welsh history behind the garden design. The only garden in Europe dedicated to the law. It celebrates the achievements of Hywel Dda (Hywel the Good), ?King of all Wales? during the first half of the tenth century. According to tradition King Hywel Dda called a great assembly of lawyers and leaders from all over his kingdom to the ?Ty Gwyn-ar-Daf?(the white house on the Taf), now known as Whitland, to study the laws of various provinces and to draw up a unified legal code for Wales.Well worth a visit

This place is stunning, a perfect place to reflect and relax. It is full of welsh history aswel, it is situatled where a market ues to be many years ago, and is in memory of hywel dda the welsh prince who changed wales for the better, with parlamentry reform and if my memory serves right gave women right. All to do with the rebecca riots or something, where men dressed up as women and rioted. I thinks that what i was told in history lessons. Anyway this place is great. And is run by the most amazing guy, mr Rhys, the most friendly chap you'll ever meet. Theres also a visitors centre, that tells you more about it all! It is round by the police station and near the site of the old dairies, and near the great and sadly missed best hair dressers in whiltand, hair by heather. And its free.
