We were in the area for a walking holiday - the staff were friendly and made us feel comfortable and welcome. It's a lovely cosy pub with great home cooked food. We are happy we made the visit - thanks for having us!

Well that was fun! After a great family meal we got to our 4x4 to find we had a flat battery, our eldest didn't have her jump leads so I popped back in to the busy pub to see if there was a chance anyone had any. Thankfully, the lovely Ben stepped in with his Mitsubishi mate in the yellow hoodie, after lots of trying between their cars and our daughters old MG we finally got the beast going.Staff and patrons were so lovely, it was great to see that the pub was busy from the minute we arrived until we left with our truck finally back on the road.A fantastic village pub.We can't thank you all enough xxx

Visited recently seeking a lunchtime meal, as advertised outside. Although the pub was virtually empty, we were told a large party was due, so we could not be accommodated. Surprising that this isolated pub is trading so well that it turns away new customers. So maybe check availability before you arrive, although there are plenty of excellent, more welcoming hostelries in nearby Monmouth or Chepstow. Seems to have good reviews though, so don't let me put you off.
