Stopped at the ship by chance, and glad we did.
This pub is run by lovely people who serve really good food.
I thought I had tasted the best chips in Wales in Llandovery, but I'm not so sure now. The food here is seriously good.
Would recommend.

Wouldn't recommend for Sunday lunch. The food, especially veg, tasted like it was frozen and microwaved, not fresh. Toby Carvery would have been far better value for money and is just up the road.
The staff were friendly, and the place itself was fine, but if you're looking for good food there are enough pubs that serve fresh, hand-cooked food in the Newport and Usk area.

Popped in after a visit to Raglan Castle. Absolutely lovely staff and locals, so friendly and welcoming. Laid back atmosphere with a cosy log fire. 10 out of 10!

Can't recommend coming here for a meal enough. Especially after a visit to Ragland Farm.
The lady who severed us was top notch and it turned out she was also the chef. Which explains why the food was amazing! It was like something out of the Harry Potter, there was terrains of mashed potato and peas. Bowels of pigs in blankets, piles of lovely vegetables and buckets of gravy. They didn't skimp on the portion of meat either!
Definitely coming again soon.

I couldn?t rate this place any higher. They were more than accommodating and the lady who cooked and served us really did an amazing job at both. Thank you for making this a worth while visit. Excellent food and service for sure.

We had spent the day at Raglan farm park and were ready for a hearty sunday lunch... 4 of us ate and drank for under £70... staff were friendly and we are glad we stopped at the ship inn this time instead of the dearer place next door where the food wasn't as good. We shall definitely return...
