Had Sunday lunch here. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Food was good, home cooked, generous portions with plenty of meat and veg. Cauliflower cheese is also included in price. Good value for money. Recommend

I frequent the slipway regularly and have always have a very warm welcome from all the staff.\nThe meals I have had have been very tasty and extremely filling.\nThe only poor experience I have had was on a Sunday lunchtime when another customer was visiting with 2 American accented friends.\nThe lady with the mobility zimmer was extremely rude to customers, and staff, who only had her best interests in their minds.\nI truly hope she does not return again to spoil such a lovely pub atmosphere.

After speaking over the phone with the amicable chef about menu options for vegans, I decided to book a table for three people over the busy Sunday lunch period. We were told that the upstairs was booked so we'd be allowed to sit downstairs in the bar. On arrival the barman at first took no notice and was then quite rude, telling us to go upstairs to see about our booking. Eventually, kind staff seated us at the reserved table downstairs and we had our meal. Being mobility impaired with a walking frame I used the lift to go upstairs to the disabled toilet but the seat was broken, I ended up hurting my back when I slipped off the seat onto the ceramic bowl, and there was no water in the old tap. With my hands covered in liquid soap I had to try to use the women's toilet sinks. It was then that I remembered that the same toilet was broken and there had been no water several months before when I'd visited. When I informed one of the staff that there would be a group of senior citizens having lunch later in the month I suggested they make sure the disabled toilet would be fixed because some of them are disabled. After our meal we were ready to leave and the owner came to take away our plates but when I asked if he had someone to repair the toilet he swore at me. When I challenged him on his attitude he pointed at me and aggressively told me to go home. I don't deserve this kind of rudeness and will never return there. Regarding the food, the vegan roast was OK with the beetroot Wellington being a little on the small side and the roasted parsnip a little hard. The vegetables were fresh.

We loved this place. Stopped in for a meal Friday lunchtime, got a friendly greeting and great service. When our food arrived our eyes nearly popped out of our sockets, huge portions and really fresh and delicious. Recommended.

Best Fish & chips I?ve ever had!
Who knew scoop chips were a thing but they were perfectly cooked and great for scooping up the tartare and mushy peas
Fish was flakey just as it should be and the batter was so light and crispy
