Arrived on the17th March for 3 nights,I was disappointed not to have a room with a view but I was happy with the room given. The bed was very comfortable, bedding and towels spotless. Tea,milk, and coffee was refilled every day. When I mentioned the shower tray seemed slippy a bath matt was provided quickly. The staff are doing their best to keep customers happy under difficult circumstances.Noteworthy details: Nice to walk around Tenby but, some streets are steep and narrow.

I come to Tenby twice a year with my two dogs. This time I chose a hotel over an apartment and the Royal Lion was the perfect choice. The location was awesome, the view from my room was breathtaking, and the staff were so friendly, especially Debbie with whom I had some smashing chats as we tried to change the world.Rooms: Theroom was on the second floor, so the view was fabulousNearby activities: Access the the main beaches was just out of the door, and a short walkWalkability: Every amenity was a really short walk away.

Location is beautiful!Room is basic and not worth the £100+ for ONE night tbh?Breakfast was absolutely SHOCKING! The sausage was 10000% cooked the day before and re heated. myself and partner couldn?t eat it and The breakfast came with?1 rasher of half alive bacon, 1 left over sausage, 1 egg, 1 shrivelled tomato, 1 pale hash brown and a table spoon of beans.. i don?t think I?ve ever had a worse breakfast!Put it this way, i put my WHOLE breakfast between two piece of bread and turned it into a sarny just to fill me up. Apart from the sausage of course!Wont be returning for that price at all. Was seriously disappointed with the breakfast before i left to travel home.

The photos aren't anything like you see. The lift didn't work. The rooms were run down, the shower didn't work correctly. The reception has limited hours. We had breakfast and it was fine but the lady wasn't very friendly. The bed was quite small

Staff - welcoming, friendly, helpful. Breakfast - fantastic, plenty of it. Room - clean, tidied and hot drinks replenished each day; very comfy bed, great shower - and the view!! Lucky us to wake up to the harbour each morning! And a lovely pint of Guinness in the bar too. I stayed here in May as well. Will be back again, I'm sure.

After reading horrendous reviews on this hotel , I was pleasantly surprised. I asked to see the room, before I paid and the Receptionist Deb was more than accomodating. Beautiful sea views and very clean beds and bathrooms, .they are battling with an old building and it does have it quirky charm but the room was comfortable clean and really quite, The outside needs attention but you don't sleep outside. Also the lady behind the bar was really friendly and happy for us to be there.

After reading some reviews, we were a bit apprehensive, but when we walked into the hotel foyer and were greeted by the lovely Debbie. She couldn't have been more helpful directing us to the nearest parking and chatting about the hotel. Our rooms were spacious and spotless with the most amazing views. There were a lot of us staying there as we were attending a charity event, and they couldn't have been more hospitable. The bed was extremely comfortable, and it was so quiet. It was lovely to lie in bed and hear the sound of the sea and waves on the beach in the morning. We will definitely return.

A huge thank you to all the incredible staff - shout out to Debbie on reception and the lovely lady at breakfast, you were both so helpful and lovely! As a family of 15 - spanning 4 generations, taking 7 rooms it was just perfect! We stayed for my mums 60th and as it was a surprise we had to take a lot of stuff into the hotel to decorate the room. The lovely Debbie even called me to give me a heads up when my mum was coming up the stairs - I didn?t even ask Debbie to do this, it was such a lovely touch (thank you again!). I booked all sea view rooms which were just perfect - the views in every room are fantastic! Yea, the rooms are a bit dated but we all loved the nostalgic charm of the entire hotel. You can tell they?re slowly doing up parts and I can only imagine how much up-keep it must take. The rooms are big, the beds are super comfy, the breakfast is bangin? and again?the view!! Wow! You?re made to feel totally welcomed from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. Loved it! We all did! Thank you to everyone behind the scenes too - this place just has the loveliest staff which makes the entire hotel even more brilliant - can?t wait to come back! Finally?look, If you?re wanting 5* just stay somewhere else. Yes, there are some bad reviews for this place but so what - it?s a great price for this location. Just enjoy the nostalgia of the place and politely get ya head out of ya arse to the Karens throwing shade xx

Only thing bad during our stay in Tenby was the weather and we cannot blame hotel for that. The time we spent inside the hotel was very good. Because of weather, we spent most of our stay in our room or lobby. Staff made sure that we are having good stay. We cannot complain about anything.

Everything about this hotel was horrendous. Do what ever it takes to stay somewhere else, and if you really must stay here then never pay for your room until you?ve checked it out first. After a long drive due to bad traffic we arrived at the Royal Lion, looking forward to getting to our room and relax. We were asked to pay at the reception which I did without thinking as I was tired and not thinking right, When we got there it smelt so bad of urine, the carpet in the bathroom was soaking wet and there were specs of blood all over the toilet roll and holder, there were staines over the duvet and staines on the sheet when we pulled the duvet back. The room was dirty like it hadn?t been cleaned for weeks. Went to reception to ask for another room but was told this was all they had, so we asked for a refund but was told that we had to go through booking.com as that?s who we?d booked the room through. The guy on reception was the least helpful that he could possibly be, he didn?t give the slightest ounce of care about how we felt, like he?d been in this situation 100 times before, he was in fact almost quite happy about the fact we were upset. We managed to find another room at a much nicer hotel, but we never got a refund because the Royal Lion hotel told Booking.com that we were offered another room which we had refused but this wasn?t true. I have no idea how this hotel can keep trading.

I appreciate that it is rather old hotel and very off putting to begin with. But I can honestly say that our stay was a pleasant surprise. Hotel was very welcoming and staff at reception desk is always available for any assistance. Our room was very large with sofa and great view to Tenby Harbour. Onsite bar and plenty of tea coffee available ? what else do you want for a great stay. All in all ? an amazing visit.
