I ordered a Merida e-road bike from Tredz. When I unpacked it, the battery and motor didn't function. When I looked at the mechanic's checklist (see photo), the section relating to electric bikes wasn't completed, the bike clearly wasn't checked properly before dispatch. When I phoned Tredz, I was instructed to take the bike (30 miles) to the nearest Merida dealer. The bike shop mechanic confirmed a serious problem he was unable to fix and suggested I return the bike to Tredz and ask for a replacement. The Tredz warranty team used the excuse of the Merida warranty conditions to decline a replacement even though the bike was brand new and unridden. As the retailer they were responsible since they had sent out a bike that was not checked and not fit for purpose. After numerous phone calls, considerable inconvenience and frustration I finally got the bike back 5 weeks later with a new battery which works.Looking at other recent reviews, Tredz clearly has issues with quality control and after sales service which need addressing.

Recently bought a bike here, got a fantastic price, got a HUGE discount (3k) so very happy. Communications were great, and it was delivered in a timely fashion. My one negative comment would be it had clearly been built in a hurry and the cable installation wasn't great, i will definitely need to cut some down some of the cables to get rid of the unnecessary slack. Also, the dropper seat grub screw was done up so tight that i am unable to loosen it, so i'm currently unable to re-position the dropper seat where i need it. Following discussions with a friend who has bought 3 bike from here in the pass couple of years, he had the same issue with the cable.

I've bought our last two bikes from the Swansea shop and had some good experiences in the repair shop years ago when I was cycling loads. I went there yesterday as my first port of call because I am now buying a bike for my daughter.I went in and very clearly described what I wanted in terms of the sizing; the shop attendant let me know that he thought I was doing the wrong thing. I listened to his reasoning which was reasonable and made clear that I still intended to do what I was planning but he kept on trying to push his point of view. Twice I stopped the conversation and unequivocally told him what I planned to do, to try draw a line under the matter but he still kept on pushing his point of view. To be fair, he was trying to do the right thing but after the customer has made it so clear, you should just accept it and move on.At this point I was getting pretty exasperated, so I was already having thoughts about leaving. I made the point that we would be able to decide what was best when my daughter test rode the bike. He then informed me that Tredz no longer allowed test rides because of Covid!!!To me, this was infuriating because I have been very annoyed by the trend I saw during the pandemic, that many businesses used it as an excuse to unnecessarily reduce their customer service levels and put barriers between them and their customers. Many of these changes have been left in place even when there is absolutely no justification now, presumably because they are advantageous to the business. Clearly, if you can sit on the bike in the shop, then you are at just as much risk as riding the bike outside but in reality, there is just no need for this level of Covid restriction now.I learnt whilst talking to the attendant that Halfords have now bought the shop and that explains everything to me, this new rule is clearly a typical large business decision made for their convenience because ultimately, they are big enough that they can afford to lose a few customers.I would have given this review three stars because I would have given them some credit from my previous experiences but as they are owned by a Halfords, I don't think that's relevant any more. Just to be clear, when under the previous ownership, I would have given them five stars. The four stars they have lost were, one for the attendant and three for the cynical Covid service reduction.

I bought a brand new bike last July 23 and I have started using 2 weeks which barely done 5 miles. I did change the pedals myself. Although the right side was flawed and after installed the pedal has caused stripped thread. They wouldn?t cover it as a warranty!! Moreover I accepted to pay the part and guess what? They reply saying it will take 2 months to be delivered!!! They won?t even take the bike back and get me a refund. I will look somewhere else where I will try to repair it . Please avoid to spend your money in this shop!! Totally worthless and disappointed!!

DON?T BUY expensive bikes from this company people. It was ale good until the £4000 Lapierre bike developed some issues after just a few months, and I wanted it repaired. It took Tredz 8 weeks and 6 attempts to pick up the bike that waited in the box. They were coming up with all sorts of excuses. 5 wasted days waiting for the driver!! One of them was that the driver couldn?t find the address even though they delivered the transportation box fine in the first place. Eventually after the bike was collected I waited a couple of weeks again. After they rectified the issues, they sent the bike back, but without the charger and the battery key. After calling them back I was told that the charger and the key weren?t in the box. After strongly advising them to find the missing items they magically were found and appeared at my door after a few days. I couldn?t use the bike for over 2 and a half months and I wasn?t offered any compensation for the amount of stress, number of phone calls, and the lost work days. Absolute disgrace.

I recently put my vintage 25 year Giant bike into the very careful hands of Tredz in Swansea for new suspension forks. Absolutely amazing service from the team there, especially Jacob whose excellent advice and repair of my bike has made my bike as good as new. Well done Jacob and the team, excellent customer service and very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend their knowledge and expertise, felt a very valued customer.

I've had two bikes from Tredz. The first was an MTB 3yrs ago. More recently I've bought an ebike. Great service and no problems and I've looked around. The bikes come fully loaded with tools, books and bag. Good stuff.

Had an issue with my new Schwalbe Lugano front bike tyre, the side walls were bulging. Called in Tredz Swansea for a replacement a Continental Gatorskin and asked if a mechanic available, I was directed to the repair area where I was served by Josh. He saw my predicament and without any fuss or bother changed my tyre, checked my wheel and inner tube. Fantastic , I was on my way within minutes. Very good service and reasonable.

Decided to spend my Cyclescheme voucher here having bought a couple of bikes from them in the past. Regretting it now. Takes them over a week to get round to dispatching orders and when something's wrong the returns process is a faff, lengthy and drawn out. I recieved a brand new tyre with punctures in it straight out of the box. It's taking over another week until they get round to processing that. Half of the items on their website are "in stock with supplier" meaning you're going to have a long delay on your order unless you phone up and manually request your order be split. The website and the whole process is dated and honestly sub par by today's standards of internet shopping. I guess that's what you get for trying to support the smaller businesses.

The packaging was totally frustrating. My return has been rejected because I didn't keep and return the piece of cardboard the gloves were attached to when they arrived. Would definitely not reuse this company.

Go to your local use shop. Spent £2700 on an electric bike, the pedals shredded the crank and I have to buy brand new cranks and pay for the Labour. The battery didn?t work with battery and need to pay to exchange the charger, without any reassurance this will work. And within that, they have refused to respond to my emails. Absolutely avoid transacting with this shower of cowboys. Shop local

I have been ordering more of late from Tredz due to competitive pricing. When my son's MTB helmet strap became detached, I called them and they quickly advised me on a warranty return.I returned, bought another helmet and another item. The return clearly stated I no longer had access to the original payment method. My return was processed quickly (5*) and I got an email to say my original payment method was being refunded (1*).I called them to discuss, to be told they had refunded according to policy and I should contact the payment channel. Payment channel has referred me back to Tredz because I no longer have an account.I guess my refund is lost. Policy is policy, but there should be flexibility, the Tredz agent basically told me to do one. Use another online UK vendor is my advice.
