Me and my mother spent 3 night's here visiting Swansea to see family. At first we both agreed that apon walking into the reception your met with wide open space, clean and delightful wonderful first impression. However the receptionist was very rude and she had a bad attitude. The service at the bar was also shocking and we was given a room that looked nothing like the room we booked online.The noise outside the hotel with guests arguing and rats running around was a shocking. I'd advice everyone to stay to away from this hotel. Or if you are staying here then be carful not to offend the staff as they are really rude to words guests.Walkability: You are in the town centre

2 night stay as we were seeing a gig in the Grand Theater. Location is spot on - a very short walk from multistory carpark (only a tenner for 2 days) and a 15 minute walk from the venue.Loved the receptionist! Was extremely pleasant and engaging, a real pleasure to deal with. Check in was ok but in order to charge to your room, you had to register your card and have sixty pounds taken from your account. You were then given a card to show at the bar (which didn't work for the first round) but you still had to sign for all charges. Much easier to just pay as you go.Anyway, we had an Executive Room on the fourth floor which on first glance looked lovely but to be honest, the housekeeping could do with a bit more attention. We had used sanitary items in our bin (which was rectified quickly) toilet paper in the toilet, the shower was dirty in places, water still in the kettle etc. Nothing major but....The bed was massive, very comfy and loads of fluffy pillows. Very well equipped - iron, ironing board, jacuzzi, balcony and toiletries. There was a hairdryer, there were mirrors and sockets but no one had actually considered using the three in tandem so doing my hair was a bit of a mare!Bar area was lovely and the service was about as good as it could be on minimum staffing.The one real outstanding area here is the food! Evening meal was delicious and plentiful but nothing could compare to the breakfast! Really good selection of both continental and cooked breakfast and everything is made with good quality items. But for some reason they were really mean with the condiments, practically hiding them from the guests but this seemed a bit of a theme around town. Strange.The one thing that really spoiled this stay was the fact we were woken up at 8.30 this morning by some very loud workmen who were doing a job in the corridor. A bit was knocked off our bill but I would much have preferred a lie on. Oh wellI don't know if we'd come back with so many other hotels in the area to try as nothing really stood out for me.

Spent 2 nights here.Great location of you are coming / leaving by train. Only a short walk to the shops too.Rooms were very basic but generally clean. One of our party (we had about 5 rooms booked) had a very bad room but reception happily moved them to something a bit better on request.Staff at reception were very friendly but they were desperately under-staffed in the restaurant. Eating there became too frustrating so we decided to eat out where possible.I think that there are a number of other hotels nearby so I will probably try one of them before coming back to The Grand for a 2nd visit.

Room a little small and basic but clean.The bar was modern and clean, staff friendly. Few things missing from the kitchen that weren't mentioned when food was delivered, such as no blue cheese for the dressing.

Beautiful building. Comfy bed but two twins pushed together, we?re a couple.Bar is stunning but closes at 9pm. The staff are great. Fantastic breakfast but ends at 10am on a Sunday.The shower was too small, light on the mirror didn?t work. The AC made an annoying buzzing sound throughout the night. Terrible TV.

The food was lovely, hot and tasty. The place was really busy we went for the 2.30 sitting ,sat down at 3pm food came about 20 /25 mins later.The staff were happy to help and pleasant. If it wasn't for the delay with sitting and waiting for the food it would have scored a 5

No cold water unless you run the tap for several minutes. Several drunken guests certainly kept me awake with shouting and banging. Could not let any fresh air into the room. Had stayed previously. The breakfast then was good value. Did not stay for that this time though and doubt I will be coming back.

We had a lovely Sunday dinner here. We left it last minute and they fitted us in luckily.Lovely big portions, friendly staff would say this place is a must for a Sunday dinner in Swansea.

Right in front of the train station, this hotel is a must if you are traveling in Swansea. Close to the bus station too. The room was clean, very big with a nice bathroom. The receptionist was super kind and helpful too.

The best Sunday dinner hands down... everything was cooked perfectly and so tasty very impressed! Staff were welcoming and attentive... we really enjoyed our visit and will defo be making it a regular occurance

Well I have nothing bad to say whatsoever. We had the best Sunday lunch I believe I have ever had in my life. So delicious and plenty full. Andrew and staff were so attentive and welcoming. Our waitress even printed out some pictures for my nephew to colour in. Amazing atmosphere amazing food and flawless staff. Thank you all. We will be back very soon

Excellent Sunday Lunch at the Grand Hotel. The food was fantastic, especially the Cauliflower Cheese. Our waitress Ellie was excellent. Even the new boy Sonny was very attentive. Thoroughly recommend this place.

Myself and friends enjoyed an amazing Sunday dinner at The Grand Hotel. The food was out of this world (try the beef!). Everything was perfectly cooked. The service was also incredible. We were looked after by Katie, who couldn?t do enough for us. She constantly checked on us to see if we needed anything extra, and nothing was too much trouble for her (and always had a smile on her face). She is an asset to the team who work very hard to make sure customers are happy! We will be back!
