I placed, and paid for, 2 orders online- 1 for a Berghaus 600XL Nightfall air tent (to be collected from Swansea) and 1 for 2 carpets and 2 footprints for same (we already own 1 tent). Placed both orders on 2/8/25. We received the 2 footprints on 6/8/25 and an email to say the tent would be available for collection on 9/8/25. We went to collect the tent on 11/8 to be told the order had been cancelled and to check my bank and emails. Nothing in junk mail and no refund in bank. No sign of the carpets either.
Called Customer Service (waited 31 minutes to get through). Ryan was as helpful as he could be, saying the order had been cancelled by Go Outdoors due to no stock and that no refund had been arranged by whoever cancelled the order. Ryan arranged the refund with Finance Department.
I requested Ryan check the other order for the carpets; these are also out of stock. I shall be taking the footprints back as these were bought as bundles and I think Go Outdoors would have trouble crediting a partial order.
The website does not show current stock levels, yet they happily took over £800 from me for orders they could not fulfil; THIS HAS GOT TO BE WRONG.
Update 27th August. My wife visited Swansea Store to buy a waterproof jacket. Whilst there, she enquired whether the Berghaus 600XL Nightfall air tent was in stock; it was. The tent came up a lot more expensive than the one previously ordered, paid for and subsequently credited. The manager viewed the original order and met this price.
Still issues with carpets as it is not known when these will be available. Footprints show as £0.00 on delivery note, so cannot use online returns. Another call to Customer services needed.
Due to actions of manager, I'll increase to 3 star rating

Always shop here for outdoors related things. There is allways decent choice. The store discount card is worth it, also i can use my defense discount card onto. Every little helps.. definitely a repeat customer

We couldn't find display items for a couple of big items we wanted, but the assistant said we can open the box's and open out the items.
Till staff and floor staff very helpful, and dog friendly, even biscuits and water by the door.

I bought an ex display tent at end of last year from Swansea store . Now I am camping I open it up to discover that they omitted to put the poles in the carrying case so it can?t be put up ! So I am stuck with an unusable sentero 6 man tent . And they don?t answer the phone either!

Attended the store and did not have my son?s size so went home and ordered online not a problem. Order said they would be delivered to store within the week. 2 days later I have a text to collect so attended the store to be met by such a rude member of staff who advised one pair of shorts had been cancelled and I would have had an email which I havnt and he went on to say what did I expect when ordering to reserve from store which I advised I hadn?t. So rude to me I left without anything and people wonder why the high street is dead. Come home and checked my online account to see if I had made a mistake, both items in the order, no cancellation and still saying they both will be delivered within the week. I give up, going to try elsewhere. To the man that was so rude to me you need a course in Customer Service and whilst the customer is not always right I was!!!! Learn some manners !!!!

Customer service from a manager absolutely shocking, he could not give a dam, very abrupt,very bad attitude, I was looking for advice about a berghaus freedom 7 air as I am in a wheelchair and need the space , he did not want to help me at all I just hope the Swansea store can afford to lose up to a £2000 sale

Gutted that I have had to leave a negative review , myself & my partner want shopping here for new boots , we decided to go for a walk around the local lake to see how they were & undoing so must of outstayed are welcome,a month later we?ve received a Parking fine & threatening court action.
We will not be shopping here any time soon.

Great outdoor clothing and equipment store, which is now much brighter inside since it was refitted.
It stocks a good range of clothing and footwear from budget to premium brands, as well as tents and other caravan and camping equipment, and rock climbing, fishing and cycling equipment.
Easily the best outdoor store in Swansea and Gower, no that there's much competition.
They have a membership card that's about £5 a year, but the discounts you get with the membership mean that it'll pay for itself in one or two visits.
