Visited for lunch with my friend and children, reasonably priced and nice environment, food arrived and midway through eating my meal I find a SLUG on my plate in amongst my peas, I raised the issue with staff and the manager didn?t seem bothered and just responded ?that?s not good? and walked away to leave the waitress deal with the situation, the waitress was very apologetic and dealt with it the right way however I was disgusted at the managers, they didn?t seem concerned one bit that a customer had just found a slug in their meal.. AVOID at all costs unless you like slugs?

Called here for lunch (Saturday 8th March), arrived at about 11:20. The website says opens at 11:30, so we waited until 11:37, nothing. Called the phone line and they said that they open at 12.
Ironically we ended up somewhere else that we actually prefer now, wouldn?t have found it if we had gone here.

Me and my friend went for food today with two little ones and our chips was cold and hard and salad and coleslaw looked like it was yesterdays and portion size was small considering the price for the smothered chicken. Coke didn't taste like coke either. Very poor. Won't go again.

I?m a local and I think it?s the last time I?m coming here for breakfast. If you haven?t booked then you have to go through the waitress?s ritual of tut tutting, looking into the restaurant then back at me with a defeated expression. And then as she always does (I?ve been coming here for years) ? she goes and asks someone if he can fit us in and as always? he says yes. The people behind us in the queue told her ?the hotel told us we didn?t need to book? but they got the withered look too.
Wouldn?t it be better if she says ?it?s busy, but let me see what I can do for you? there were more than enough available tables. Just fed up of being treated like this. Coupled with the fact that the Apple and orange juice barrels were empty for the duration of my visit and the hot drinks machine stuck on standby, it?s just not worth the money or my custom.

Wow first experience of Sunday lunch today and what about absolutely stunning meal and the service from the smiley staff was second to none. £12.95 for lunch was so reasobable and knocked spots of it's 'big carvery' competitors. The lovely chef serving the lunch made my day ...so happy in his work and so smiley and friendly with the customers. All the staff were welcoming and friendly and the food was stunning and plentiful. Will definitely be returning and will almost definitely be our new favourite!!! Well done everyone at Brewers Fayre.

Oh well! Plenty of tables. Doubt if you would need to reserve a table in advance. Food is basic and overpriced.
