Really nice pub, good quality food and drink.

Had a reasonably good meal at the ship. Highly recommend ordering from the specials menu which features the fresh fish that day. We had the scallops, lemon sole and mussels all which were very fresh. The rest of the menu is pretty average and a bit expensive for what it is which is essentially burgers and pub classics. We had the scampi, chicken burger and gammon which were fine but nothing special for £20+ a head.
The big area for improvement needed is the children?s menu. The 5 out of the 6 options were all freezer food ( chicken nuggets, fish fingers, poor quality sausages etc.). with chips. It would be nice to have some better higher quality options for kids. Or an option to make the mains child?s size.
The staff seemed nice and accommodating and we had a nice lunch and would return if we could offer the kids somthing a bit better.

Booked a table for 6.30
Managed to have food and walked out after 9pm!
Service was awful
So understaffed for a weekend
Food was ?. Ok but waited an hour for it!
Desserts ordered and were extortionately expensive and dreadful, so much so had money back on deserts
Shame as prime location
So cashing in on holiday makers

We had take out gluten free cod in batter and chips. One portion cost £22! The chips looked as if they been cooked 3 days previously and re heated. The fish was mediocre. Very disappointed

Overpriced and Unwelcoming
We had a very disappointing experience at The Ship Inn in Port Eynon. The staff were rude, blunt, and made us feel like we weren?t welcome. There was no warmth or hospitality at all. Upon entering, there was no greeting other than dirty stares.
When we sat down, we checked our menus, and the prices online were £3-4 cheaper than what we were charged in person. Despite paying high-end prices, we were expected to collect our own drinks and cutlery, which made it feel more like a canteen than a pub.
To make matters worse, the place only has a 3-star food hygiene rating, which doesn?t reflect the prices they?re charging. Overall, very poor value and not an experience I?d recommend.

Barely edible food for 52 GBP for two people and understand that location and setting is very enticing but they are mailing it in, food wise.

Very disappointed . Have eaten here many times , before July 2025 was very surprised by the increase in food prices firstly £22.00 for fish and chips !! was disappointed with the small size fish and the chips were awful -reheated and scrag ends !! Sea Bass at 29.50 etc - the staff were lovely as usualj , the premises are great , lovely atmosphere , but I won?t be eating here until the Tourists season is over. Far better quality and quantity in other establishments and if you?re in Mumbles visit Johnnie?s fish and chip take away, you?ll understand my disappointment at The Ship.
