Preordered meal but took 3/4/hour to arrive. Waiting staff superb. One of our party charged £1.45 for extra gravy. What? Gravy costs nothing

We love Kala Bistro and this has been on my wishlist for a visit and it didn't disappoint the food was absolutely amazing we had:-
Smoked mackerel pâté pickles, sourdough toast
Creamy garlic field mushrooms on sourdough toast with a poached egg
Chicken, mushroom and tarragon pie creamed potatoes, confit leek, pickled shallots
Smoked fish pie long stem broccoli, triple cooked chips, parsley sauce
Warm lemon and syrup pudding vanilla ice cream, double cream
Coconut & vanilla rice pudding rum-poached pineapple, toasted coconut and lime
We will definitely be coming back ??

2 course for £22 at lunchtime, superb food, cracking beer, lovely staff.

Been here X2 1st time fish dish , tasteless.
Suppose to be spicy.
Not good. 2nd time chicken was cold.
Ate alone whilst sent back, no apologies for compensation.
Definitely no return for us!.

We were really looking forward to visiting the White Horse after a lot of hype around it opening but unfortunately we?re very disappointed with the food and service. The food was very average, some of us felt the meals were too strong, perhaps a little too salty along with overcooked vegetables. The service was a little strange too, staff would interrupt conversations and lean over people at the end of the table to serve which isn?t dinner service etiquette from experience. All in all, it was an ok meal but won?t be rushing back.

Had a wonderful meal here with friends. All the food was delicious, with special shout outs to the scotch egg and the cod loin. Really lovely personable service too. We were really impressed that they overheard us talking about it being on our birthdays the next day, so gave her a little honeycomb treat on the house. Will definitely be back :)

I love this place! Had a fab afternoon tea a few months ago and returned for the 2 courses for £20 lunch on weekdays, I had a pie with parmesan chips- it was soooo tasty ??

The food and service were outstanding and the non-alcoholic cocktails (drivers aperitif) the best I've had. Highly recommend. Will definitely be back.

Sunday lunch with the familly for my mums 80th birthday. Everybody was lovely and couldn't have done more for us, the food was amazing. We will definitely be back

Enjoyed a lovely lunch. One of our party has additional needs and the staff could not have been kinder. We all enjoyed splendid food in a warm atmosphere. 2 plates for £20 is great value.

Had the salmon salad as a main. Was predominantly lettuce. Hardly any salmon and a tiny egg. Tasty but not worth the money unfortunately.
